if you could figure out where they come out of the desert set up there would be good there are some small hills that look down into parts of the river you might glass from them but it is so thick also where the does hang out is not actually on the river they like the high grass thickets with mesquite and open grass areas here and there between the riparian timber and the acacia/ocotillo hillsid...

Me too look for the does core range on their ranch it is >100 acres you could try and spot and stalk not really easily glassed putting up blind in major travel corridor in home range is how I would do it. She gets bucks running right past the house chasing does they rut hard in mid jan also ive always wondered where they come from been on the ranch for week at a time off rut and never seen ...

I havent bow hunted the early season down there but during the rut in Jan there will be a lot of bucks by the river. If you can find someone who will let you hunt on their property, or find access to parts of the east bank youll find deer. A friend has property near charleston, they have a resident herd of 15 does during the rut get serviced by bucks from somewhere else. Good Luck. Ben
