ForkHorn replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Thank you for all of the time and effort put into this contest doug. Just thinking about winning has got my kid going crazy thinking about the possibilities . But i have a question concerning the rules. Can my son enter into the youth AND the Rifle categories for two chances at winning? Thanks - ForkHorn -

Trail cam suggestions and setup
ForkHorn replied to archeryasu's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Yeah this camera sounds just what i have been searching for, I don't need higly detailed pics. Does it have a time and date stamp? Do you know if you can add on memory with a sd card or something similar? Sorry for all of the questions Thanks - ForkHorn -
I have been reading through a lot of past threads on salt licks for coues. However, I have a special spot down in the desert for mulies. I remember reading somewhere that Mule Deer seem to prefer the brown mineral/salt blocks to the plain white salt blocks. Anyone have any experience in this? Or the effectiveness of salt licks on mulies at all? Thanks - ForkHorn

Eyeguards, What do you like to use as a cover/mask scent? I have thought of using raccoon urine but have never actually tried it. - ForkHorn

Coues World record at Cabellas
ForkHorn replied to vegasjeep's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Actually I think that almost all of the really big mounts there are replicas, including the world record coues. When I was there I never even noticed the bad mount job because i was too busy drooling over the rack! - ForkHorn -
It's not just you the I get the DATABASE ERROR everytime I try a search also. Try using yahoo or google and add + coueswhitetail at the end of your keyword and what you're looking for may come up. - Jighead

.270 is right, the 140 grain bullet actually hits harder than the 150 grain bullet and and shoots just a tad bit flatter. Here's a comparison: http://www.remington.com/products/ammuniti...R270W4*PRC270WB P.S. Your best bet for factory ammo (and my personal favorite) with the 140 grain is the HORNADY 140 gr. BTSP CUSTOM AMMO. It's about $30 a box but is well worth it. ForkHorn

I was in the cabelas for the opening today and they actually do have the REPLICA of the mount. But the real one would be very cool. If somebody starts a petition ill sure as heck sign it. - ForkHorn
