There's a guy in cordes junction that does blueing. He does good work and is pretty affordable.

Has to be a TSA approved case. If you want my opinion, get the SKB. I know from experience that the useless deadbeat bunny hugger hippie's that work for the TSA will do their best to try to break it.

Diamondbacks, Timberrattlers, and prairie rattlesnake's can all be green, and Mohave's are not always green.

Got the new B&C stock....fit question??
dse replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My brother and I put stocks on our REM 700s a couple years ago he decided to take the speed bumps out I wanted to see how it shot first. Mine shot 1/2 moa with the pressure point his shot around 6 moa without. -
This is what I use. They have them rated for -10,-20,-25,and-40. The -10s and -20s are plenty warm and still really usable, the -40s are too heavy to really function in.

dse replied to Paladin529's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Have you tried touching the lands? Getting 1/4 moa in my 300 rum 10 twist from Rl-22 Nosler brass 215m and 200gr Eld-x. Haven't had time to play with the 212gr yet. -
Which factory ammo to extend range/accuracy of my .270?
dse replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've killed one coues with the 130gr ttsx from 270 WSM Mv 3400 fps. Deer was facing me at 274 yds. Bullet hit him in the throat and exited the back left hind quarter. Flipped him over backwards, he didn't move for almost 30sec then jumped up and ran 50 yds then expired. -

1 Double Tap 130gr Swift Scirocco 2 Federal Premium 130gr Trophy bonded tip 3 Nosler Trophy Grade 130gr Accubond 4 Hornady Superformace 130gr interbond All will absolutely crush a coues well beyond 500yds -
I don't mind the snakes and scorpions, but would just hate to share my bag with a skunk.

Looks like fun! Can't wait to get my new 22-250 Ai to a dog town!

223 Reloading for Hunting/Accuracy (Updated with success)
dse replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
53gr Hornady v-max for coyotes and any other varmints. 62 gr Swift Scirocco's for anything larger. The 53 gr v-max has the best BC of any varmint type bullet in .224, plus it makes a sweet sound when it smacks something. The Swift's BC is as good as anything except the big a-max, and is a awesome game bullet. -
I have a couple of vx-3i 4.5-14x40 cds I've been using for a while. They are pretty much the same as the old vx-3, just a new coating on the glass. They do seem to be slightly better in low light.

Good luck! I'll be on the other side of the road 35b.

35b late Nov for coues and 12a turkey

Rem. 700 270 Wsm topped with a Leupold Vx-6, shooting 130gr Swift Scirocco's. Killed a pile of critters with this rig from 300 to 700 yards, and have yet to one manage a single step after the shot.

I use this one..Really light and has a shoulder strap Mine looks just like this but made by Browning. Heavier than the walk stool or pads but it has a back and is comfortable. I spend way more hrs glassing when I'm comfortable.

Getting a new rifle - advice needed
dse replied to KaibabHunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
For the money you can't beat the vx-3i. The cheapest scope I would put on any rifle I intend to hunt with. -
It's here! Ready to fire form some brass. Rifle is 11 lb 14 oz with scope & bipod.

That's great, can you post up some pics when you have time?[/quote Here ya go

I've never measured before. Maybe I'll head over to his house this weekend and try my hand at it?[/quote If you get on B&C website it tells you how to do it, it even does the math
