Rem. 700 270 Wsm topped with a Leupold Vx-6, shooting 130gr Swift Scirocco's. Killed a pile of critters with this rig from 300 to 700 yards, and have yet to one manage a single step after the shot.

I use this one..Really light and has a shoulder strap Mine looks just like this but made by Browning. Heavier than the walk stool or pads but it has a back and is comfortable. I spend way more hrs glassing when I'm comfortable.

Getting a new rifle - advice needed
dse replied to KaibabHunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
For the money you can't beat the vx-3i. The cheapest scope I would put on any rifle I intend to hunt with. -
It's here! Ready to fire form some brass. Rifle is 11 lb 14 oz with scope & bipod.

That's great, can you post up some pics when you have time?[/quote Here ya go

I've never measured before. Maybe I'll head over to his house this weekend and try my hand at it?[/quote If you get on B&C website it tells you how to do it, it even does the math

I would almost guarantee it won't fit in the mag, it may chamber.

The 12 has a rib and the heavier flattened bottom pump with the 3" chamber. The 16 has the small round pump and no rib. Both full chokes. The 16 is a almost perfect match to the 20 I've been shooting since I was 10.

Picked up a pair of model 12's today one in 12ga and one in 16ga. Saw a ton of means down south last year. I say I'm going to make it down every year but this year I mean it.

If you have to be paranoid about signing a petition, your already in camp. -

Is that all I get is one gold star -
I think he would look much better hanging on the wall.

SKB is hard to beat! Mine has made several trips to Alaska and the rifles have always been in perfect shape when I got there. TSA did manage to knock one of the locks off. I was 500 miles from the nearest road and SKB had a new set to me in 4 days.

I used the 3.825 SF on my 300 rum. It's long enough to seat the 212 Hornady Eld-x into the lands and still fit in the mag. You will lose 1 round mag capacity.

Lookout pass was nice this afternoon 50° at 3:00. Glad I wasn't in Az.

Probably just don't like bunny huggers.

If your looking for loaded ammo Midway has the 162gr in stock

I load for 4 rifles in 270 wsm using rl-22. I've used Barnes, Nosler,& Swift bullets all between 130-150 gr. All shoot sub moa. My current load is 130gr Swift scirocco over rl-22 @3350 fps, getting 4" groups at 800 yds.

I use Rl-22

The chassis systems are a little too heavy for my liking. All my rifles spend a lot of time in the pack, and the pack is already to heavy. Ups just dropped off the new B&C yesterday so shouldn't be long before this thing is hammering coyotes!

I would say depends on your hunting style. If you hunting southern az coues in big fairly open country I would say 15s for sure. If you mostly hunt thick stuff or in the big trees probably 10s.
