Forget 12ga, just not worth the time for what you get. Get a rcbs rockchuckar kit to load 270 and get the hang of reloading. Then upgrade to the Rl 550b dillon for the 9. The progressives have alot going on at once and will be a lot easier to get the hang of after some practice on a single stage.

Midway has weatherby factory ammo with 100 gr norma bullets on clearance for $32 a box. Its like $10 cheaper than they want for just brass.

Corbon loads the 100gr ttsx. But not very speedy, and really spendy.

Unless your a really good pistol shot I would say governor, or judge loaded with #4s and pdx1 every other round. Apply that to a bear or booger mans face and they aren't going to pick on ya anymore.

I've had three e-callers now, until last week I had never called a dog with a e-call and several with hand calls along with a couple foxes. Last week found a fox pro prairie blaster on clearance. Since then 3 song dogs thought they were having deer for breakfast and got lead poisoning instead. I do like hand calls, but if I can get more coyotes with an e-caller that's what I'll use.

The BC of the lrab in 6.5 is .561. The .277 lrab is .625. Cutting edge has a .277 130gr bullet with a BC of .540. Still not seeing a big advantage in bullet selection. However the .26 would be the clear winner in the muzzle flash contest.

Used the 130 gr ttsx in a 270wsm for a coues buck a couple years ago. From 274 yds the bullet hit him in the throat and exited 4" to the 8 o'clock of his tail. Best penetrating bullet I have used.

Had the great guys at the TSA break all four lock on my skb on the way to Alaska a few years ago. From the time I called them to the time I had new locks in hand was three days. I thought that was very impressive as sometimes it took that long to get a phone call out of that place.

If it were me I would full length size the first time after fire forming then neck size after that. Neck sizing will result in better case life and will likely be more accurate as the case will be a perfect fit in your action. I would go with either rcbs or Hornady dies and make sure they are the Ackley version as there are other improved versions.

I've had really good luck with rl-22 but have only used Barnes and swift tipped 130gr

16x is plenty for 600. I use a 14x

I like the 270 wsm, but if you want to go 600yds on elk I would go 300wsm. I think it can be ordered but if not 300wm or 7 mag.
