We have a 2006 GMC 2500 that is my wife's daily driver. She only drives about 30 miles a week. Aside from that I use the truck for hunting, hauling water, and the occasional trip to town. I also drive it to work if we get a lot of snow. Last time I bought tires the guy at Big O talked me out of mud tires saying they would be terrible on snow and ice. I went with an AT tire instead. They are ok but on the late elk hunts I would really like a more aggressive tire. Its time to buy tires again and I was wanting to get some opinions. Does anyone here have experience driving on ice and snow with mud tires? Do they wear a lot faster than AT tires on a full size truck? Tires last us several years with no more than we drive so I don't want regret my choice.

One was and antelope hunt that showed they didn't issue all the the tags they should have in the bonus pass. I had to go look at last years regs to be sure I had the right hunt. I don't remember what hunt it was.

My wife just asks the butcher at our Safeway. She usually has to wait a day or 2 to get 5-10lbs.

I once ran into a guy in the wilderness area in 32. He had driven down from Wyoming and backpacked in for his first coues deer hunt. Opening morning he had glassed up a nice buck and when he went to load his .243AI he realized he had grabbed his .270 ammo pouch by mistake when he left home. His luck turned around when he ran into me as I was packing out my deer. I had 10rds of .243AI that I wasn't going to use. He killed a buck the next day.

Shotshell reloading questions.

When I was looking into it I just figured I would buy new hulls every time. Its still cheaper when you shoot 3.5in shells. Not sure about the smaller stuff. -
That is really cool! I grew up hunting down there.

Any Door dashers here? Or other delivery service?
thegunsmith2506 replied to CatfishKev's topic in The Campfire
I know a guy that does that and Uber in southeast Tucson. He does Door dash until later in the evening and then switches to Uber when people start leaving the bars. He said after fuel he can usually make $500 a night. -
I had one. I had nothing but issues with it.

I use to shoot one with a fixed full choke. But I don't think this guy is legit! -
If I remember right Bull Basin charged me $125 for a new string and to install a new rest. That was a few years ago.

I don't know anything about pricing, but after watching my neighbors try to do this for the last year and a half I would never do it myself. Sometimes it takes them months to find someone to do the work. I think things are pretty crazy right now..
