I talked to some of the guys on the fire last night. Sounds like they have it handled.

They evacuated South Garland so they could do back burns is what we were told.

Did you get the GO order?

Can you see the flames or just the glow?

I am just north of the fire. We finally got a little rain last night. Not enough but anything helps.

I know they had a plane on it last night, but I hadn't seen anything else about it. Hopefully they can put it out in the canyon if it gets on top it could be really bad.

I should have looked at your link. Last night you could see the flames from Garland Prairie so I assumed it was coming out of the canyon, but I guess its not according to the updates. The latest update I read said they will not put any more resources on the fire until it comes out of the canyon.

Kaibab just said it's closing Wednesday too. Bill Williams has closed the last few summers.

I think they will close Kaibab too. We are 8mi east of the evacuation watch for the Rafael fire and its blowing up fast. They put everyone on set mode from parks to flag south of i40

Yeah they are pretty good right now.

Not at all it. We cut all the fins off and gut them. Next we cut right behind the gills to the spine then grab the head and pull back until the spine breaks. Once you do that you can use the head as a handle to peel the skin back towards the tail. That is the only way my grandpa ever cooked trout. My boy likes them breaded and fried so that's what we did.

I never even wet a line but my boy caught his limit in about an hour. The fishing was great 👍

I would expect fire bans by early May this year, but you never know. Most years they are in place by Memorial Day at the latest.
