The 20mph winds out of the west pushed it east. -

Kaibab just said it's closing Wednesday too. Bill Williams has closed the last few summers. -

I think they will close Kaibab too. We are 8mi east of the evacuation watch for the Rafael fire and its blowing up fast. They put everyone on set mode from parks to flag south of i40 -
This is cool stuff. I grew up hunting down there. https://unsolved.com/gallery/skeleton-canyon-treasure/

https://customturretsystems.com/ I use these for 2 of my rifles and really like them. I prefer them over looking at a chart or app in the field.
-
Yeah they are pretty good right now.

Not at all it. We cut all the fins off and gut them. Next we cut right behind the gills to the spine then grab the head and pull back until the spine breaks. Once you do that you can use the head as a handle to peel the skin back towards the tail. That is the only way my grandpa ever cooked trout. My boy likes them breaded and fried so that's what we did.

I never even wet a line but my boy caught his limit in about an hour. The fishing was great 👍

They are open now! Just had lunch after a morning of fishing.

CW Long Range Meet Up: January 30, 2021

I would expect fire bans by early May this year, but you never know. Most years they are in place by Memorial Day at the latest. -
I would like to see how much money is spent on the Landowner relations program. I bet its way more than we think.

That is super cool. I grew up hunting with my grandpa in all those same places.

What exactly are you looking for? I have some stuff in .50cal and .54cal.

Today I had an eye appointment and they said the card processor they use was down. I ran into that at 2 other stores as well. I am guessing that could be the issue.

Digital Calipers?
thegunsmith2506 replied to 07Guardian's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have used a pair of these daily for 15 years. They work well and the battery lasts me 6 months. https://www.amazon.com/Mitutoyo-500-196-30-Advanced-Measuring-Resolution/dp/B00IG46NL2/ref=sr_1_5?crid=4M927PHIBUHR&dchild=1&keywords=digital+calipers+6+inch&qid=1613588834&sprefix=digital+cal%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-5 -
I honestly don't remember how many, but it was enough to make us happy. Probably 10 keepers a day along with lots of other fish mixed in.

My wife and I have been there around the end of March a couple of times and had a blast. I have never fished Alamo from a boat so I can't compare it to that.

Help! Thompson Center Omega Trigger - broke
thegunsmith2506 replied to Redman's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
I fixed a broken trigger for a friend one time. I cut off part of an old Mauser trigger and had another buddy tig weld it to the broken piece. It didn't look right so we used epoxy to attach a trigger shoe. That might be an option.
