I was in MO for year when I was 18. Horrible place to live if you like public land and being outdoors. Unless you own 500+ acres you cant do much.

Powell Springs is a great spot to camp. We use to take our 26ft trailer up there a lot in the summer.

We killed a few down by Willcox when I was growing up. We would pond jump ducks and sometimes get a snipe or 2. If you don't like eating dove, you would hate snipe! -
I live just west of Parks and I have a hard time calling up here. When I lived in the desert I called a lot and could kill 30 or 40 a year all with a shotgun. Up here I probably only kill one every 10 stands. I think its easy for the coyotes to get your wind before you see them through the trees. In the last 5 years up here I have called more bobcats and foxes than coyotes.

I know its not quite the same but I have been to Jackson Lake in Wyoming a few times. We hire a guide for a day and then spend a few days out on our own in a rented boat. We go in June or July and have always had great luck catching Browns and Lake trout.

Did you catch any of the Muskies they put in there?

Where did you catch the fish? I use to go to Horse Thief Basin when I lived in Cordes. Haven't been there in several years.

I have found with a little shopping you can usually find the same prices as camofire

Its handy to have on your phone for almost any hunt. We use it a lot to send locations back and forth. I get on the computer and mark areas I want to look at then they pop up on my map out in the field. Its also cheaper than a gps.

My wife made a bad shot on a bull with a Montec. I was amazed at how well it broke bone and held together. Took some tracking but we recovered a dead bull.

Those are great guns! -
I think they are the same as Lignetics. We buy them at Cal-Ranch and sometimes homedepot has them. If not, Homeco is a little more expensive, but still worth it. We burn 2 bags of Heaters brand pellets to one bag of Lignetics. We bought a pallet from Cal-Ranch last year.
-
Yes it is well worth it.

I get to see that every morning over the peaks on my way to work.

What targets do you guys use that shoot arrows with outserts? I have a bag target and its really hard to pull the arrows out. I have a solid foam target and its the same way.

We have killed a bunch of elk, 2 coues, and one antelope with 250gr SST's. The have worked very well for us.

We use the metal 1 gallon cans for our chainsaw fuel. We buy a gallon of pre mix fuel and then refill the cans.

Would you take a .223 for your wife?
thegunsmith2506 replied to Ingo's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Yes. He was quartering to me a little bit. All 3 bullets were in the chest cavity. He never even flinched until the 3rd shot. -
Why both? Is it because you just like to look at a map or is there a real advantage?
