Some lake trout from this week. Forgot the after pics.

On vacation in Yellowstone but we got to sneak away for a morning fishing trip. We let my son and nephew do most of the catching but we all caught some. Biggest was 27in and the smallest was probably 18in. We kept 10 "good eating " size fish according to our guide. The scenery makes it worth the trip! Fishing posts are worthless without pics so here are a few.

Pretty much our experience. Everything on the jeep was frozen, birds were not talking. Walked 2 miles looking for tracks and calling. Not a peep. Now the roads are a disaster.

My son got a shot but didn't connect. It was an awesome morning with birds responding well. The weather sucked but the action kept us out there

Wife and I are looking for an aluminum 12-14 ft boat with trailer. Needs to be rated for 3 people. Not looking for anything fancy just something to troll the northern lakes. Let me know what you have. Thanks!

We found an older Montgomery ward 12ft aluminum boat no dents or dings. The trailer has new tires and bearings. It came with a 7.5hp gas motor and a #30 trolling motor with a new battery. Tried to take it out today but the wind made no fun to be on the lake.

The boy decided he wanted smoked trout this weekend so we went to the lake. Friday was pretty slow with no keepers but Sunday they turned on good. It was his first time throwing spinners and now he is hooked. My wife did a brown sugar and honey brine that turned out amazing!

I haven’t fished Powell in years and it was from a boat. In a couple weeks we are meeting my sister’s family there for my son’s birthday and I was wondering about fishing. We are camping at Lone Rock for 3 nights and I would want to fish close to there. I have my son and 2 nephews all under 11yo to entertain. Is it worth taking some poles or just a waste of time? Mostly looking for bluegill and catfish but anything that bites will work. Thanks!

Almost all of my turkey hunting has been in 8. I like to drive around before the hunt and look for tracks to locate flocks. The worst part about turkey season is the wind. If you have a day without wind that is the day to hunt. My son and I will be out for the youth hunt this year. Last year we got on a few but never could make it happen. I learned from my buddies dad years ago to hunt all day. Most guys go back to camp for lunch and a nap but he will stay out all day. Good luck! The only turkeys I have seen in the last few months are down low but I would think they will move higher before the hunt.
