I like the energizer headlamp from Wal-Mart. It has a few brightness settings and it clips to my hat. I usually hold it in my hand as I am walking and then clip it to my hat when I need a free hand. It works really well for me and is pretty cheap.

100gr accubond going over 3800fps hit a couse at 354yds in the shoulder and stopped under the hide on the rear ham.

I don't think the elk get pushed out in too many areas. What I have seen the last several years of hunting or helping on this hunt, the elk are not in the open much during daylight hours. I think the pressure changes their behavior more than their location. At least that has been my experience. Sorry to hear you had a bad hunt. Did you hear any bugles?

Click on the button where you select which scope you use. There is an option for zero distance. I sight in 3in high at 100yds and it works for me.

I bought this gun about 10 years ago to use for dove and quail. Since I moved to northern AZ I just don't use it anymore. I am not really sure of the value, but I have been watching a few online sales to get an idea and I think this is a pretty good price. Feel free to make an offer. Only trades would be quality 8 power binos, or maybe handguns. This gun had a vent rib and choke tubes installed by Simmons in Kansas City before I bought it. It also has a recoil pad. The guy I got it from said it was done when he bought the gun new. I have a full choke, a skeet, and a skeet II. There is a little surface rust on the barrel that should come off easy.
