    New calling rig

Thanks guys. Finding all the cheap parts was the hardest thing about it. I found some great deals, the upper I bought was all parts with no barrel. I had to put it together. Here is a link to where I got the upper. I had to call him to get a better deal on a parts kit upper, and shipping took 4wks. The lower took about 8wks to get, but it gave me time to build and machine the upper. link to the upper http://www.rguns.net/

    New calling rig

This is the new calling rifle I put together over the last few months. Its not the R-15 that I wanted, but I saved a bundle by going this route. Most of the time I only call with a shotgun, but last year we had a few hang up out of shotty range, so I decided to put together a semi auto .223. All said and done it cost me $575.00 and it shoots pretty good.

    Bull Basin

I noticed them last Saturday when I was down in Tucson. We stopped by and they let us in to look around even though they weren't open. Looks like its going to be a great shop. Lots of gear, good prices, and very friendly. I think he said they would be open late this week or early next week.

    Fox and Coyote

I was just about to hang it up for the summer, but I got a phone call Saturday morning. A local rancher is losing calves and asked me if I would come do some calling. We headed out Saturday afternoon for a few stands. The wind was pretty tough, but on the 7th stand we had this Grey come in at the 4min mark. I shot him at about 10yds with 2oz Copper plated BB's. Sorry about the pics! After 5 years of banging around my pack, my Sony camera finally died. On stand #9 we had 2 coyotes come in to dist. sounds. I got the female, but no luck on the 2nd dog. All in all not too bad. I guess I will try to rifle hunt these coyotes for the next few weeks and see if I can kill a few more. I am almost finished with my Ar-15 and can't wait to try it out.

    Wild Pigs makes news

I am pretty sure the Javalina regs used to say you couldn't shoot them down by the San Pedro. I grew up in the area and only saw them a few times. Sure would like to find a few now.

Looking for a 270 or 300 short mag...

My wife shoots a Browning X-Bolt in .300WSM. Even with 180gr. bullets its easy to shoot. It kicks a lot less than our .270WSM Savage. I love the .270WSM though, its a great round for Az. These guys have pretty good prices on new guns. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem....?Item=161315171 http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/default.ph...935_13987_15869

    AE Hunt Results

I actually had the shotgun in the case in the back seat of the truck, but my bag and some other gear had slid off the seat and piled on top of it, so I just said screw it. I got lazy and didn't want to dig it out! haha The damage actually wasn't that bad on the fox. Exit whole was about 2-3 inches, which my taxidermist should easily be able to fix. That will be a great mount. I am getting a big male I shot in January mounted. I think Greys are some of the best mounts.

    calling?

I agree. I usually play 3 sounds per 30min stand. I usually let the call run non stop, but the last few weeks I have been having luck if I turn it off for 1-2 min every 5min or so. Most of the time I just let it play.
