My VERY COOL buck from Mexico

You da man! Great buck my friend! You deserve it!
  10. First day after putting in my sets had a nice tom. Next day had a female in my Briarpatch cages. I now have 9 sets out so hopefully a couple more will walk in before the fur auction in globe next month. It is just as exciting seeing the door down on a cage as calling them in.
  11. Well done to you and your crew!

    Caging Bobcats

I do cover the bottoms but the cats try digging and expose alot of the wire. I also put dirt on my pans. Dont worry about dirt on cage behind pan.I use faux fur in some of my sets. But most are scent only. How is your trapping going up north?

    Caging Bobcats

Boy I hate to say it but I have been lucky and not had a cage messed with yet. Hope it stays that way. It is amazing how well a cage can blend in and be hidden from people. Check out those cages from Bob and you wont be dissapointed. Let us know how your trapping goes and good luck. Oh by the way Bob also makes his own gland lures and call lures. That is what I have been using with great results. Nice to have a local guy with the experience and expertise to help rookies.

    Caging Bobcats

Choking is the way I have been dispatching mine also. Nice to not have blood and holes to stitch up.
  20. Got out for some calling this weekend and ended up having a great time all around Friday afternoon called in five grays in six stands. Only brought home this one. Bad shooting on my part was the main reason. <img src="http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee4/joshnaz/115_0915.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> Then saturday went out with Scott and his buddy to a bobcat hotspot. We seperated, Scott took Chuck and I went off solo. My second stand using my favorite cat sound this nice female came charging in on the trail I walked in on. I thought I was going to be able to set up on a hill overlooking a nice wash,so I brought my .17 fireball, but it was so thick when I got in there my only option was a small opening in the bottom of the wash. I put the Big Country up in a tree as high as I could reach. I stood about 20 feet from the call a little elevated. At about two minutes it appeared fast and was standing at the base of the tree looking up at the caller. I put the crosshairs on the cat. I shot it jumped and started running right at me. I had to step aside as it ran past me. The cat died about five feet away from me. Called a couple of fox but was unable to shoot them. Scott called at about 10a.m. saying he had called in a coyote and two cats. We met up and this is what we harvested that morning. Then sunday I went out with Sal and shot a yote and he got his first fox it was alot of fun.

    Rainy Day Dog

Nice job Bucky! How is the new MOJO working for you.
  22. Casey I have been using the .17 fireball for a couple reasons. First it is usually really good on the fur. Second I hate being limited if a critter holds up out of shotgun range. Cats seem to do this more frequently than other animals and that is what I am typically after this time of year. Also I really like shooting this gun. Yes the cat has some real nice coloring and modeling.
  23. Well since my soon to be Ex-wife had the boys I hunted all day on thanksgiving with good success. Went looking for cats and second stand this tom appeared straight away in a boulder pile at the 12 minute mark. A couple blanks when the wind picked up. But when it settled down the fox showed up in force. Shot a triple first then a double and a couple stands produced single fox. Then friday teamed up with Scott for some video work. Scott had a nice head shot on a coyote that busted us. Went up the hill a little further and I was able to shoot a nicely furred gray.
