Glad I wasn't the only one who did not see a thunder chicken

There are elk all over get out on the roads at dusk and see what Meadows they are going into. Last week on the back roads from Stoneman lake to Mormon mtn to munds park I saw over 300 head of elk. From what I have seen in my years up here they (cows) don't move much from now until the first gun shot.

No luck for me only hunted 4 days though in some windy conditions.

Be mobile hunt the whole unit if need be you have two weeks, but what do I know

My brother had this hunt a few years ago find the nastiest area around water and u should run into something. Also get up on those tall mins and glass. Opening morning I believe a glassed over 30 hunters, quite depressing.

I fully expected some type of lashing from the cwt police but like I said James is a good guy and has taught me a lot and I am very thankful. Adam or nick there is always room for you.

Just wanted to thank JLW(james) for everything this guy has done for me. I met James on one of the first days at work. I would have never gotten into bow hunting or even found this amazing forum. 5 years later and tons of miles on a dirt road im proud to call you my friend. Good deal on that minox spotter I have the same spotter and love it for a smaller backpack spotter.

Mike from verde valley meat processing does great breakfast sausage and also summer sausage. He has processed everyone of my animals and i have never had an issue.

All my hot spots were quiet and no tracks were seen around the need by water holes. Now with the wind blowing 30 it really sucks.

This site has been so helpful and led me to some great new friends, helpful advice and always a good laugh. Thought I might as well ask my cwt family for any leads on a job. I am in no hurry to find one, since I got a nice severance package, but would love to put that $$$$ into some new optics. Nice finds a sweet bonus while out hunting. The deer numbers have seem to exploded in the last years.
