From what I saw from this last storm the elk were moving south (6A) saw two heards of over 100 plus elk lined out and heading south.

Congrats again on that Heart buck, First dead antelope I have ever seen up close and I get spoiled by seeing that monster. Yes, I was one of those three guys coming to see that monster buck in person.

Welcome to an awesome site when it comes to hunting in AZ. Just being a bow hunter you will have many more opportunities to hunt than with a rifle. If you want an extra bonus point for every animal, get your hunters safety course done.

Two years ago I was hunting the OTC elk tag with a guy who had a 44 mag Marlin and it layed the smack down on an elk. I believe he was shooting 180 plus grain bullets. JLW needs to chime in he was on the same hunt with me. I believe the guy shot the elk three times, but we all had the same philosophy when it comes to elk, if they are still standing give them some more lead.

It was my first time cooking antelope and I cooked it the way I always have with deer or elk. Btw I set some antelope backstraps out for dinner after reading this and will only salt and pepper it, the yotebuster way.

Nice, I soaked my back straps in buttermilk and Italian dressing then wrapped them in bacon added a little salt and pepper and it was the best game meat I have ever had. Wife loved it.
