When I get to my uncles house in Bakersfield I will send pics of his 367 bull and his 345 bull shot on the late hunt, to go along with my dads 332. I have seen bachelor herds where the smallest bull was 300 inches so I guess to each their own. You won't see me pull the trigger until day 5 on something small.

I have always been drawn for the late bull hunt. Rule of thumb for me has always been to wait till the 3rd day of the hunt, that's when the big boys show up.

JLW full invite on both hunts, tons of brown liquor and meats. I'm good at golf but the dude with two broken ankles kicked my butt on the course, but I will get the bigger Buck, elk and higher duck count.

I have been drawn twice. Best advice I can give is find the best cover you can. Last time when we hunted phesants down their it was extremely hot and most of the fields were not planted. The smallest little patch of green seemed to hold a bird or two. We did need permission to hunt on some of the land but the farmers were nice and let us hunt. I dont know what road it was on(maybe someone might know on here) but their is a nasty Pig Farm that we shot most of the birds around. -
That to funny. Wonder how it tastes.

Can Mitt possibly dig himself any deeper?

This fact has been know for years and our goverment sits by and does nothing about these free loaders. We wonder why our economy is in the toilet. The new American dream is to have other hard working USA citizens pay for everything. Worst of all instead of just sitting around waiting to cash their wealfare checks, they have to pop out babies like they are rabbits so we can pay for those as well, AHHHH the Real American Dream. Such a joke. -
If your back then were back. Can't believe what I saw 10 weeks ago. Ducks, deer, elk beware he is back.
-
Good luck to everyone out their with a stick and some string. So jealous of everyone that is smelling the best smell in the world, Elk all day and then sit around a camp fire with a steak and some brown liquor to make the joints feel better, thats the life.

Hope you all have a safe and successful hunt, just leave my 380 bull alone in 6a.

Might have to charge you $50 just to come. We could have a deal, what is the FPS of the ammo and are they all BBB's? anything over 1500fps doesnt shoot right out of my choke tube.

Good luck this weekend. Aim small, miss small. I will be up in Munds this weekend if you need any help. I love getting bloody and hauling elk out of the woods.

I had a Forest Service person tell me that if you get a wood cutting permit, you can drive down the roads that are closed. Anyone else heard anything similar to this. He said to throw a chain saw in the back of your truck and your pretty much good to drive down any of the closed roads. My fear if this is true is that the game and fish would still fine you for using a closed road to harvest an animal, if I read the regs correctly. Any input?
