My best friend and hunting buddy that does everything with me took a bad fall yesterday. He is out for his OTC elk hunt and probably my late Bull hunt. Im hoping for a speedy recovery cause as most of you know it not what you kill but the memories you make and the people you are with. The two pictures are attached one is from my trail cam walking in together to check the camera and then the aftermath.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. Well how it happened how can I put this as nice as possible cause I'm gonna be hunting with him for another 40 years. He was excited to eat an In and Out double double animal style, after a long day walking.

Get them Prairie dogs but why blow up the rabbits as well?

Dead down wind and some Scent Wafers on my backpack and my hat (pine is my favorite smell). Been using some of those scent wipes around mid day, when I start to smell a little human.

Bands are a must, also I would recommend getting some 5 lb weights and do some wrist excersises ( http://armexercisesthatwork.com/Wrist-strengthening-exercises.php) Big key is to make sure that you stretch your arms Before and After you excersise.

Here are some pictures from my first ever game trail camera set, more than happy with the results. Does it not look like the Big bull took an arrow in his shoulder? No deer or cow elk, all bulls and one coyote. Nov. 30th can't come fast enough.

Moultrie M-80 can be found for under $150 dollars. The pictures I updated today are from that camera and have not had any problems with it.

It rained all day yesterday and almost every night here in 6a,5b for a week now. I was near the pine grove quiet area last night, my gf and myself heard an elk bugle. It was lighting and raining really good, can any shed any light on why this bull was making noise? Also spoke with a ranch hand who has been running cattle around long lake and say he has seen many nice bulls. We exchanged phone numbers and he said he would keep my posted on the elk. I'm not drawn in that area but would be more than willing to pass on the information I get.

Who Says Dalmatian's cant hunt, this is Zeke, he is almost 9 now but he still thinks he is 3 years old. The looks I get from my hunting buddies will never get old when he jumps out of the truck, Ready To Hunt.

This lil burro would have been a weird death, but a pair of tin snips saves the day. The mom was making the wierdest noise and caught our attention while quail hunting near Lake Pleasant.

You will find internet tough guys and gals on anything internet related, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that's what makes this the best country in the world. Its up to each individual to limit the negative and increase the positive, in the long run it just someone's opinion. I'm not as addicted to CWT.com as the outdoors but getting close thanks for all the knowledge and help on your site.

Have a cow call handy at all times on the late hunt. I have stopped bulls from busting by doing a quick cow call, enough time to make the shot. Yes, a cow call helps in the Late hunt, couple of examples; when still hunting kick a rock or break a fallen limb, do a cow call and that seems to calm the game infront of me down. What I have experienced with elk if they smell you, it doesnt matter what you do all you will see is a yellow rump but you can make some noise and cover it up(cow call). Obviously, if your one of those hunters who cant walk quietly then your S.O.L. Also, as mentioned above I have seem them stop on a dead run to a cow call just in time to get a shot off, I have not seen that happen when someone will whistle at a moving bull. I feel the main reason for the cow call stopping elk in the later hunts is the fact that most of the elk are on the move(hunting pressure/weather) and not fimiliar with their surroundings.

As stated above Im new on here but Im a 4th generation Arizonan. I have been hunting birds and animals all over Arizona since I was 5. Shot my first duck off the Salt River, first quail off the 69 Highway towards Prescott Valley and am almost too young to remember dove hunting West of Phoenix in the cotton fields with my Pa. I was issued tag 3 and 4 for the very first ever Pheasant hunt in Yuma, boy was that different than hunting in Northern California but is was fun while the hunt lasted. My passion is hunting, not killing. Please dont pass judgement on my name it was my online poker name for over 4 years and has stuck with me ever since. Im not just some weed smoking idiot.
