Ask $400, maybe $450 if you want to sell it fast. Add a hundred or so if you don't mind waiting...

I came across this thread this morning and decided to pick up some Spitz dill on the way home from work... You guys weren't kidding. They are good! Hopefully they'll take my mind of the Skoal (a habit I'm desperately trying to break!) I had alway eaten Davids and nothing else, but after trying them, the Spitz are a better seed.

Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15X40, Matte, Adjustable Objective, Firefly reticle. Excellent condition. One slight ringmark. Otherwise perfect scope. Would like $225 for it or trade for a good condition 10/22, or .22LR revolver. Could do a FTF for $210. North Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Catalina, San Manuel/Mammoth Thanks

No experience with cherokees, but I had a '97 Grand Cherokee limited (all the bells and whistles) I bought it used with about 50K miles on it and sold it right at 100K miles. I found the 5.2L V8 to be a good runner. No problems with it or the transmission during its stay in my possession. Mileage was fair. As I recall, it would usually give me just under 15 MPG. (I have a newer Tahoe with more enguine (5.7L) that gets 16-17 regularly.... Newer vehicle, most likely better technology...) What I didn't care for was that it seemed that every time I turned around, I was relacing one of the "options" (moonroof controller, electric seat adjuster, A/C compressor crapped out on me, rear wiper motor, ABS control module, etc.) BTW that ABS part was quite pricey, not to mention the cost of having it installed. $1200 or so total. If I were to do it over again, I'd opt for a something more like TAM's 6 cylinder cherokee with fewer options to have to worry about.

I like them! I usually boil a couple of batches each year. Fresh boiled are so much better than the canned variety. Must be an acquired taste. Like the posts here show, there seem to be more folks that dislike them than like them. My 6 year old daughter and I are the only ones in our family that enjoy the boiled goobers.

If you're not dead set on a 7mag, you might want to consider the 300 Win that Hammy is selling in these classifieds. It will do all that a 7mm can and then some. Looks like a great deal on a rifle plus loads.

I have a couple of scopes that I'd like to sell as I have no use for them at this time. 1) Bushnell Elite 4200 8-32x40. Matte, Adjustable objective, Dual-X reticle. Light ringmarks, lenses appear to be perfect. Overall very good condition. 6" sunshade included. $350 shipped 2) Redfield Tracker 3-9X40 gloss, duplex, visible ring marks and some scratches on adjuster caps. Optically very bright and sharp. $85 shipped

azrcks, My understanding is that the problem lies in the triggers themselves, not the rifle. Have you considered an aftermarket trigger for your faulty 700? Timneys run around $100 and are easily adjustable...

I have a CVA staghorn inline muzzleloader for sale. When I bought it over the summer, it appeared unfired. I put 9 shots through it to get it sighted in. Kept it as a backup for for my muzzleloader elk hunt last month. .50 cal. blued metal/synthetic stock, very nice trigger, 209 primer ignition. There are a few spots on the barrel where the bluing has worn off. (My fault, leaned it against the concrete bench at the range while loading it) I'll include the disassembly tool, the primer tool, and a couple of partial boxes of Pyrodex pellets (30s and 50s) $80 or possible trades. I'd like to keep this deal in the Tucson area as it wouldn't be cost effective to ship this sucker. Thanks!

I do far more reading on this site than posting, but this time, the excitement is really setting in. On Friday morning I should be in 22 South looking for a bull to shoot at with my muzzleloader... I simply can't wait! Unable to sleep, (hence me being on this site at darn near 2300 on a work night.) and wishing i could hit life's "fast-forward button" and be hunting already. I'm a self-admitted amateur elk hunter, killed a few cows, but this time, I have a bull tag.... I say that I'm gonna hold out for something big, but who am i kidding? I like to eat elk meat as much as I like to look at horns. I've been scouting in the area, saw plenty of bulls. Got some good info from Jeremy "the butcher" Browning and hoping that sometime next week, I'll be dropping an elk carcass off at his joint for processing. I've been trying to absorb as much information and tips as I can from reading the elk hunting forum here... but all of those pics of happy successful hunters and big bulls is driving me crazy! I've never had the pre-hunt jitters as I have them now. So pray for this flatlander, boys and girls... Pray that I make it through these last two days of work with some productivity. Yesterday, I had my students write me a story about their dream hunting trip for a creative writing assignment.... Tomorrow, we'll read about Elk and their habitat (informational text... hitting the AZ state educational standards, you know) Oh yeah, and if you see us, (I'll be somewhere south of Payson on a silverish '03 chevy 2500 with a tan '80 jeep CJ5 in tow), stop by and say hello.... nothing better than sharing hunting lies..err stories with others!

Would you pay someone to develop/reload for you
Couesdeer replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
A lot of people do pay to have loads developed for their specific rifles. I guess I have more time than most or make the time as I certainly enjoy all stages of load development and, more importantly, trigger time with the load/rifle combo. -
+1 on this being a great thread. Lots of good info on elk behavior. I drew a 22S early muzzleloader bull tag. Hopefully they'll still be making noise later this month!

I'll take that mossberg 500, providing its in good working order... PM on the way!

Mike, Get on the 60 and head east until you get to Globe. There you'll turn off head south and east on US 70 another 70 or so miles. Should put you in Safford. If you hit the NM state line, you gone to far....
-
I'll take the scope. PM on the way..

I only have experience with Weller's... Great work!

I'd be interested in pics of both model 12s.....

I have three recovered slugs in my collection. Left: 145gr 7mm Speer Grand Slam (7mm Rem Mag) recovered just under the skin from the back of the ham on a coues deer. (bullet entered opposite front shoulder.) Center; 165gr .308 Nosler BT (300 Win mag) recovered form the stomach cavity of a Texas feral hog (Bullet entered front shoulder) Right: 9mm jacketed bullet that went through my roof and into my bedroom on New year's eve '02. My girlfriend and i were on the bed at the time... scared the heck out of us! We've moved out of town since then!

Thanks for the heads-up on that, Bobbyo. I reckon I could make a few phone calls to the manufacturer and determine equivilancies between 777 powder and pellets. The pellets seemed to go up a couple of bucks each time I purchased them over the last few years.
-
I only tried two different bullets when working up a load for my muzzleloader. I settled on a 285 gr Barnes Expander MZ over 100 Gr of 777. In my muzzleloader, they were much more accurate than the powerbelts i tried. Killed a small bull elk in '07 with that particular combo. 125 yards, broadside shot through both lungs, breaking a couple of ribs on the way out. The elk stumbled about 10 yards and died right there.

Winchester model 70 caliber 30 06 into something else
Couesdeer replied to seek100plus's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Here's an idea.... Go with a 25-06, 25-06 imp., or maybe even a .25 Gibbs. (my fondness for quarter-bores showing a bit here). However, keep the original barrel and stock after you have your custom built. If sentiment gets to you down the road, you can always revert it back into Grampa's old '06 with a quick trip to the gunsmith. Oh yeah, to answer your original question, the easiest switch in chamberings for your rifle would be anything based on the 30-06 case.. (6mm-06, 25-06, 6.5-06, .270, 280... ackley improved versions of all of these exist... and so on.) -
Well the time has come, I will have my very own...
