WTT/WTS assorted rifle ammo/brass/components

1 box(100) .308 165gr Nosler solid base boat tail $20 I'll take these... PM on the way -
I don't think you'd go wrong at all with that rig.... My "Coues' specific" setup is a remington Sendero in 7mm RUM with a target turreted Meopta 4-16X44 atop.
-
I'd like to buy one of them from you.... I'll call you in the morning.

I had the same tripod/head for some time.... Excellent set-up. Extremely lightweight and compact for what it offers...

Lark is dead on regarding the ballistic performance between the two cartridges.... In my rifles (one winchester 70 and one remington 700, both sporting 24" shilen tubes), I am getting 3250 fps with a 165 gr. bullet in the 300 Win. and 3165fps with a 140 gr bullet in the 7mm mag. That being said, there is a noticable difference in recoil. the 7mm Rem. is much easier on my shoulder. I know stock design is a major factor in felt recoil. Both of my rifles have Mcmillan stocks duplicating the shape of the factory offerings. Regardless, both will kill deer and elk out as far as you can be accurate. If'n it were my decision, I'd be all over the 7mm. the savage is a good rifle, but i like the "feel" of howa 1500s a bit more... Plus I am not a big fan of muzzlebrakes or toting around more weight (hvy barrels) than I need.

I'm thinkin' .45 auto...... This is a great deal on a solid, well built pistola...

I teach spacial education at public school in the Tucson area. Have been working with students in grades K-8 for ten years now. If you are a parent of a special needs child, you know how confusing the sp. ed. process can be. Feel free to contact me if you are in this situation.

Sorry Gary, I wasn't clear in my first post. I am aware of fenced in operations, such as in TX... I guess I meant to say i never heard of hunting Coues' behind fences. Didn't realize this topic had been brought up here before. Sorry for all the excitement. Carry on, folks....

Take care of the meat guys!
Couesdeer replied to huntingfool's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
+1 on boning them out in the field. If done correctly, you'll have a pile of entrails, ribcage, backbone and hide (if no taxidermy) left out for the coyotes and ravens. I prefer to leave the bones in the hams and shoulders (gotta have a few soupbones!) I carry a handful of homemade game sacks (look like pillow cases) and get the chunks of meat into them to cool everything down as well as keep the bugs, and debris off. Meat gets transferred to plastic bags before going on ice. Keeping the meat dry inhibits the growth and spread of bacteria that can spoil the meat. -
mad photoshop skills....

50mm objective scopes...... AKA "Hubbles"

Considering all the damage that was done.... A javelina BBQ would only be fair. Seriously, though, good to hear that nobody was hurt.

What Scope and power do you like?
Couesdeer replied to tontotom's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I like ample eye relief and low mounted scopes. A leupold 6.5-20X40 affords me both. Add an m1 elevation turret and I'm a happy camper.... -
+1 on the scoring it yourself. I'm thinking your older deer will win out though, but that's just a wild guess...

Reid park?

What weird stuff have you glassed or happen well glassing for game?
Couesdeer replied to seek100plus's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I really love to go hunting, but I think this feller takes it to another level! -
116 1/8... wild guess....

Nothing wrong with the Howa 1500 (Mossberg, S&W, Weatherby Vanguard, and proabably a few others). All the same action and all capable of excellent accuracy.
-
I'll take it.

need a good set of binos for small amount of $$$$$
Couesdeer replied to regge090's topic in Classified Ads
If you're looking to save some money, you might want to consider dropping down to a good 10X bino. I've seen Ziess classics as low a 500 clams used. I sat behind a pair of Swift Kestrels ($200-$250) for many years and didn't feel handicapped by the 10X. -
Nice stuff! Wish I had the coin.

I purchased this tripod about three years ago and its been used on exactly one hunt. Very lightweight. Extends to 36", folds down to 16". These were made for Cabelas by K&K outdoors. Here's a link to the same Tripod: http://www.sagecreekoutfitters.com/Merchan...Category_Code=T $150 shipped

I just acquired this same scope.... The optics are unbelievable! On par with the more well known European optic firms...
