Bummer. Sorry to hear. Looks like a nice unit down there!

Yeah, weird Just curious, was that a couple years ago? I'm looking at the leftover list for 2017 in the Arizona Coues Deer section that someone posted, and looking at this year's list. I don't see anything for 29 in either year. I could be missing something, too. Thanks.

OK. So just dumping the numbers into Excel really quick: 2017 General Deer: 1508 2018 General Deer: 1614 At least for General Deer, 106 more leftover tags this year. Lonne

Peaking at 2 gallons a day with aggressive exercise in June. And somehow 2 cups of coffee still makes me feel dehydrated. LOL. As soon as the monsoon and humidity in July hits it starts dropping to maybe 1/2 gallon or a gallon in December/January.

sweet videos for sure.

Thanks for posting this. I haven't looked at the list yet; but last year there were just over 2400 tags available on the leftover list - and G&F put out a statement the other day stating there were over 2400 leftover tags. If what I saw and read here is accurate, then it is about the same. And I'm not sure the 2400 they stated this year was all deer tags.

First bear hunt– color phase bear, 35A

Great job and that bear is beautiful! Awesome face on the bear!! -
I tried Atkins / keto for awhile once. It was awesome. Like said above ate all the steak and bacon I wanted. Felt fuller faster, lost weight. Maybe the only negative I could remember was: occasionally I felt shaky.

super cool pics. Thanks for posting! I remember the post about that close border encounter...that one pic looks a little too close for comfort. LOL.

Anyone know any info about this? https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/arizona-environment/2018/06/22/jaguar-roamed-arizona-mountains-feared-dead/726804002/

I didn't see this thread until now, but heard the news. Indeed Bill was a great guy! Purchased one of his books and now sounds like a great time to read. My memory of Bill was following his many posts on here. Then one weekend several years ago I was out elk hunting and ran into him by accident as we were both driving down a less traveled small road opposite directions mid-day, couldn't do much but stop and talk. When he told me who he was I instantly knew and was excited to meet in person. He gave me some good tips and shared stories of how his hunt was going, and we were both not having much luck but working hard. It was a cow elk hunt and all we were seeing was big bulls (when usually all we see are cows everywhere). We were laughing miserably about it. I ran into him a 2nd time on that hunt, and we were both going home empty handed, but we had some really good stories to swap. God bless his soul.

What is occurring with mountain lion populations in Arizona that lead AZGFD to make a change to lion season? Are there any other notable changes I might be missing? Thanks in advance. Perhaps something with kittens and nursing, but I didn't catch the full details. Normally, lion season is 1 lion per hunter per year. I do not have previous regs in front of me but I believe it is something like July 1 of previous year to June 30 of the following year. Well, there has been a change. For 2018 to 2019, lion season does not go continuously throughout the year. Instead, lion season runs from Aug 24 of this year to May 31 of next year. Therefore after June 30 of this year/month, there will be a lull until August 24th. There are also harvest limits in each zone, and a call in number, similar to bear. Good luck hunting, everyone! +1 on Kelty. I don't know how they might have changed over the years (positive or negative). But I've always found them to be relatively affordable to other brands with good quality.

Best Bivvy is the Outdoor Research Alpine Bivvy. It costs a pretty penny but there is great ventilation. Any of the other bivvies and you will deal with serious condensation. I've slept through heavy rain, snow and serious sleet storms in it. Always wondered what would happen if a cow or a bear accidentally walked on me. I suppose if it was a bear they can smell so good it wouldn't be an accident and it might be more like teeth. LOL. I have never been disappointed with the inflatable super light Thermarest. Still have not punched a hole in it, in many years. The MSR Dromedary 10 Liter has been awesome for putting some days in. None of this stuff is on a budget though, sorry! I once somehow thought I could get away with a $99 sleeping bag at 10,000 feet and I ended up nearly hypothermic and nearly frostbite. Learning the hard way is not fun but somewhat required or else its easy to make a dumb mistake. Definitely do not skimp on the sleeping bag, although it does make sense to get one rated for the temps you will be sleeping in. But don't trust the temp ratings unless there is a price tag to justify it on the bag. Have fun!!!

Conserve and Protect (Tags) Presentation at G&F Mtg

I am not hearing any good reasons as to why this CAPAZ raffle/auction, or whatever it is or could turn into, is a good idea. I am willing to hear from people that are regularly on this site. Better sell it good though, because it smells right now and can't see it ending up to be a good thing. -
Hunters should be suspicious and concerned about tags being taken away. Not hearing any good reasons why regular hunters should allow this, or any confirmation this grab couldn't escalate into something worse later.

Pretty cool Adam !!!

I sure hope you're way off, time will tell I sure hope I am also. It was nice to have rain this early. It will be a good refreshing reprieve for the wild game.
-
And now the realization sets in probably no more rain for 3 weeks. I sure hope I'm wrong!
-
Is this why AZ lion regs are changing next year?
-
You can. Some other states will honor it though. This and purchases are quicker.

Nice photos Shawn! Hope you get one. Good luck. Thanks for sharing.
