Bad advice. Hope you find the owner.

I think he is very old. I would go 8 to 10 yrs.

Many factors at play that result in many different frequencies. Usually they tend to hit more during summer months, sometimes almost daily (kaibab for example they really hammer salt). I have deer on my property, and a water trough with salt next to it. The deer have not hit the salt one time in 6 months, but the bachelor herd hits the water usually several times a week... they must get their salt/mineral fix naturally somewhere else here.

Very nice, his coat looks like he is full winter already.

If you have 5/8ths plywood under the drywall on you entire trophy wall, like me, you don't need to find studs with you lag bolts. Anywhere will do.

Trackable arrows are already for sale: https://breadcrumbtech.com/bluetooth-nock/

The biggest factor for me is those OTC hunts are super tough in places that offer them in Utah with very very low success rates on mature bulls.

That's a common shortfall with deserts, 99% of the time they don't have the nutrients or genetics to get the very top tier mass to match up with mountain monsters.

I'm in the market for a Polaris Ranger 700 or 800 with an aftermarket back bench to have a short and economical 6 seater. (child #5 is in the oven!) Going to look at this one this weekend even though it has more hours than I would like. Pictures show quite a bit of negative camber on the back tires. Is that indicative of a problem like CV axles bad or something similar, or is it because of the added weight of bench and full roll cage, or just a common situation? Seems like the CVs have to be replaces pretty often on the earlier model rangers?

Unless he is 400", then cap that sucker and get the cape to the taxi! My tip is, you can never have too many frozen water bottles in coolers back at the truck to keep that meat and cape cold!

I took the "don't cow call" to mean, "don't go educating the bulls before season with that tactic", which I also echo. Good luck!

This joker is apparently still guiding as of yesterday? Posting pics today: https://www.instagram.com/macoutfitters/?hl=en

It was only a one day hunt but I just couldn't give this guy a pass. Was driving back most of yesterday. Last year I hunted this area, and on a mid-day hike-a-thon I found this 40+ year old falling-apart trough way down in a deep dark nasty canyon that looked like it was getting a ton of deer traffic with no signs of human contact in many many years. 6 weeks ago while up at a reunion in the area I set up a blind and trail cam on the seep. This was the biggest buck coming in, his group was hitting it about every other day. I glassed the nearby canyons Monday morning without finding anything bigger, so I sat my blind in the afternoon and this guy cooperated perfect and came in 5:30 AZ time leading his buddies. I've attached a video, sorry it is sideways when it uploads, but if you click on it, it will download to your computer to watch. Deer land-speed- record I'm pretty sure haha. trim.5B562A47-E97C-4B88-8B8D-12B84F308E36.MOV

Aaaannndd, jmall throws down. Now if he would have had pics, it really would have been a top "post of the week" candidate -
He could end up being a good respectable bull, those pics are still so early in the growth cycle. Its surprising how much and how fast they can grow. My 2014 bull was a little 5x5 middle of June. By August he has sprouted into a 6x6 with 55" beams. My pics are all for certain the same bull, tons of pics on tons of cams of him all that year.

On the guide question, depends on what you want. If you would be happy with a 180" buck, do it yourself, take some tips from guys who will offer and what game and fish says about unit and go for it. You should have no problem if you hunt hard the whole hunt. The odds of getting a really big deer go way up if you hire a guide. A very large majority of the biggest bucks are taken with guides involved(either hired or guides who are friends). Those are the facts. The good guides are the most knowledgeable about the area and bucks, spend the most time, effort, and money on gathering that information. If you would really like a good chance at a giant, $5,000 over your lifetime for a guide is probably worth it. 15 years from now, what are the chances you will regret spending the money on a guide?

Should AZGFD eliminate the youth muzzleloader hunt in Unit 16A (Hualapai Mountains)?

I think the youth rut hunts should be rotated around. Not just the same unit every year. -
Whats the longest youve left an Elk in the field

I have never heard that leaving the bones in helps cooling off, that makes no sense. You shouldn't just throw all the meat in one big ball in a big bag, it has to breath and get air to all parts, but bones hold heat from my experience. -
I got an archery deer tag charge earlier this afternoon.

Want to take the 4 kids up to fish tomorrow. Shoreline. I don't really like catching stockers for some reason. Does anyone know if there are any hot spots for Crappie or Bluegill or even cats at any of the Williams lakes? We used to slay the pan fish when I was a kid 20 years ago at Cataract lake and McClelland lake but a few years ago had no luck. Thanks

Took a 16 mile hike to save these guys several weeks back.

Cow and late hunts are often very tough in 10

If my wife saw that lion pic she probably wouldn't let me go out on my solo trips any more

Truarms.com has Athlon scopes, and spotters on sale, you have to email for prices. After reading and seeing good things about Athlon, I'm going to try out a spotter.
