    Card Hit

They only way I would be ok with a mandatory waiting period would be if it was instituted for the very top premium hunts only, like hunts under 4% draw success for instance. You draw one of those tags for elk, you have to wait 5 to 8 years maybe before you are eligible to draw another top premium tag. You can still hunt early archery etc in most of the state in the mean time, just not the very top premium hunts. I don't hunt these units, so it wouldn't really affect me, just seems fair.

Did you call them? My account always lags a couple days before they show charges. Yes, you have to call and then have talk to a rep to get the actual most recent pendings. The automated "most recent transcations" does not give pendings.

    ATTN shed hunters **reward**

Interesting request. No comment on that. Was thinking the bull would be hard to identify, but it does appear to have some distinguishing features: a left beam that goes up at the very back, and a right beam that goes down and a pretty sharp angle?

    shoulder dislocation

Man, what DOES you insurance cover? Bodies are so very fragile, we forget when we haven't had anything major happen for some time, but eventually we all are reminded.

So here we go again waiting

My guess is, the wife at the mall? Daughter at college?

    When do we find out?

My opinion is that we're in for a good wait yet. There were several issues with this years application process, A.) People's licenses online didn't match the licenses they bought in stores. B.) Some people were getting charged multiple times for a single application. C.) The "highly unusual simultaneous server crash" that then created D.) Draw deadline was extended a day. Some transparency, press release, heads up, estimated time frame from the department would always be nice.

    Three antlered Elk Euro

This is a little bit of a story, but some may be interested. Started with me and the dog finding this expired elk while scouting last summer. Looked to have been dead for maybe 6 to 12 months. I got ahold of the G&F and they agreed to go out and take a look with me. It was maybe around a 3 mile round trip hike, and the warden was great guy for putting up with me and going the extra mile:) He couldn't see any fowl play or obvious causes of death, so he let me take the head. I learned alot about G&F officers that afternoon. He says when he is driving on the highway and someone passes him going 100 miles and hour, he will pull them over and give them a ticket, and they always think that he isn't allowed to or something. They often don't receive full "law enforcement" respect that others would normally give to DPS or police etc. Anyway, needless to say, the head I carried out still had hardened leather skin and a foul odor attached. It took many hours of work, two boiling sessions, and covering the antlers in Arm and Hammer Odor Fighter paste to get it cleaned up decent and to kill the odor. I de-greased it, and the wife says she would rather have it copper than white. I did Rustoleum "Hammered" spray paint and I think it turned out nice enough to be allowed into her domain.

    Peridot Poppies!

Me and my girls found some in bloom in 15a on Saturday, but they were much less dense that what you found. Only a couple here and there.
  11. Getting off topic, but pretty much every large private ranch that plays the exclusivity card in northern arizona contains state trust land within its boarders that it does not allow the public to access or hunt. Big Bo, X - 1, Oro, Fort Rock, all of the blue is state trust:

    2014 Archery Elk Done

Haven't been able to fit the pickup into my schedule yet, but excited to get him home soon! I did off-set shoulder, left turn, with a couple inches cut off the back of the form, think it turned out great.

    "Beefalo" hunting in grand canyon

The cattle portion must be pretty minute. This is a bad example, but they must be far less cattle than I am native american (1/64th). Its there, (and I'm proud of it), but its so small, you can hardly call me a native.

Turkey guides for 12a for first hunt

I thought you just drive around until you see one and then jump out of the truck, oh wait, that is just every Californian that hunts the archery deer, nevermind.
  18. I have found several, and most look like they have not been visited in a very long time, but were full of camping stuff way back in the hills?

    Gun show question

From what I've seen, you can find prices on new guns that are often under normal retail. I don't know if some dealers get factory scratch and dent or how they do it.

    Stained too dark

The buck in my avatar became blood stained when I stripped the velvet. I need to do this process as well. What type of white paint would be the best to use? Just Acrylic?

    Online draw deadline?

If they could get a system that worked, online is much cheaper in the long run and superior in almost every way. The public does the data entry so we don't have to pay for department employees to be on the payroll to input all the data from the paper apps. Other states have it figured out and have gone to online only. We just need an IT SAVIOR to pull the department out of this cycle of repeated failures and to get on par with other states:)
