AZGFC'S Concideration of Fair Chase Terms
Coues79 replied to elkaholic's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
#3.... A practice. So, hunting on a salt lick in which a trail camera has been used to determine a buck is coming in at a specific time on a specific day. So where is the line going to be drawn if they do take trail cameras into consideration? Would they go after these big outfits that have hundreds of cameras set out and leave the DIY hunter alone? Specifics on removing them by a certain time prior to hunts? Lots of things to iron out. -
I know and feel what you're saying. It sucks that a man can get old too quickly and not have many elk tags under his belt in his lifetime. I want to hunt and hunt more often. Won't be too much longer that I can't do what I can do right now in the mountains. But, I still want a quality hunt.... Might as well throw that in there too.

Way to get it done singleshot! What a great year for you and your family. Congrats!

To me it looks like they're gonna start targeting trail cameras in that ethics page

Happening in Oregon but Issue is Alive and Well Here in S. AZ

There isn't anything wrong with a person closing their private land to entry. What the game and fish needs to do is work to gain easements through private property to more easily access public land behind the private. I'm not against walking into land, but, I consider myself in a lot better physical condition to be able to do so. A lot of the private land also does not allow foot access anyway. 29, 30A, 31 and 32 are prime examples of it. Seeing the Klumps gaining grazing rights in 29 and 31 has me concerned about what they'll try to do in the future with folks hunting land around there.... Game and Fish are the ones that need to work for us, but there needs to be more of an education aspect to it that helps educate hunters about proper ethics while accessing public land. -
Need to hunt coyotes? Go here ......

Sure wish they'd allow it again to help out the deer and elk herds. Drought hurts as it is. When was the last time someone trapped a yote in a live trap? -
ANYONE HUNT CALIFORNIA QUAIL HERE?

I've seen several coveys of mearns up here in U1. Surprised I haven't had a heart attack yet from finding them. -
I think it's good to get this loss out of the way. Regroup and come back strong in the playoffs. They're on a 9 game win streak.... Just a matter of time before they do get a loss. Hard to watch though

Early Kaibab vs Late desert Muzzleloader vs 3A/C

These are great hunts. Ton of points to be guaranteed the tag. What a problem to have if you're in the ball game to draw what you're asking for. -
I really like the backdrop and coloring in that 2nd and 3rd picture down. Looks really cool. Nice pics and congrats

Bad A right there.

I like what's been said above. Wait and save. If it takes you an extra year, so what. That years worth of saving and having to rough it without it for one more year will be more worth it than having a mediocre scope in the long run. But having said that, a lot of good deals come up on Swarovski, Leica and Zeiss stuff. Kowa makes a helluva good spotting scope. Check out "birding" forums and see their thoughts on it as well.

Got our regular draw tags in today.

I was considering the teton soft shell when the 30% off sale was going on. I ended up passing on it. Now they are out of stock. Whats the wear on it look like right now? Is it from washing? Is the Peloton hoodie worth the money and warm enough? I was really wanting something with a hood verses something without. As for the teton zip-t, is that lined with fleece inside? The Teton zip T is a bit heavier than the regular Teton long sleeve shirt. There is what seems to be a light fleece on the Zip T inside. I know personally, the zip-t is going to be too warm for me to wear in 60-70'degree weather. The regular T seems like it'll be what I wear most of the time unless it's pretty chilly. The soft shell jacket is really nice and seems to be about perfect for colder AZ mornings.

Congrats! That's a beautiful ram. They do a good job on management indeed.

It changed automatic for me

LoL. Good grief! It's his sale. Let him ask what he wants to ask!

This was an absolute blast being part of. Sarah is a ROCK. She deserved that bull after several days of hard hunting and leg grinding. The best part of this hunt were the three huge smiles getting the bull prepped to go into town. That hard work was rewarded to a great family; this hunt was done right.

My CVA loves precision bullets... If you decide to change.

Man sounds like a mess. PLEASE don't have the mess for the elk and antelope draw!!!!!

Well it's no fun for us unless you tell us exactly what unit and what ranch... LoL. Have fun and good luck! December coues hunts are a blast.

Make it memorable, go into hells gate into one of those huge deep canyons and shoot a raghorn. Take all day and the next to get him out. Or like woody said go into lion springs and shoot a spike. -
The good thing about it is everyone is in the same boat looking for the leftovers, pig season is a month out still and it looks like they're getting things ironed out; although past the deadline. It'll iron out. Now, hopefully they fix this mess before the elk and lope draw cycle..... Man it seems like I tell that to myself every year though 😕

I ordered a few different things on Thursday when the sale came on. Ive already received two orders that I ordered that day, but haven't had my first order even ship yet. Sucks. I've contacted them twice and they have said they are still processing orders from the sale. Anyways, the stuff I did get is pretty nice. I love the flexibility in the pants and how they give in the thigh and crotch. I think it'll be great for climbing and hiking in coues and elk country. That has me sold more than anything else.
