Sorry, I can't help self! NEW BLOODY HANGING VELVET PICS page 6
Coues79 replied to SirRoyal's topic in Elk Hunting
Rather large. Wow -
Swarovski, Leica or Zeiss. IMO it would be ridiculous to go with vortex over any of those..... Glass simply does not measure up.

I had some knockoff bighorns which were great tires imo. Dirt tamers I believe. I decided to go to maxxis bighorns and have not had good success with them at all. Those rip saws have a good tread pattern and I have heard they are good tires as well. Might get those next go round with tires.

Give back the tag for a fee. Give up ability to apply or earn bonus points for that species for the next year. I like the idea of offering something to folks that run into situations but there needs to be something in place to make it less palatable for those wishing to abuse the system. There has to be a way to find a happy medium

That animal is absolutely amazing. What a true Arizona giant. Remember that it's truly about the animal. Too bad that watermark logo is on the picture.

Weird yes, but, good for them and for us. I doubt they want all the issues they have had in the past few years with the draw. If they've gotten it down I say good work and let's look forward to the spring and mid winter draws.

That mark isn't going to cause any issues with viewing whatsoever. It still baffles me that these 15's are selling for this price nowadays. These are great, great glasses and we're basically the best 15's a guy could get two years ago.
-
Good for you helping him out. They look like a quality heavy duty build.
-
They're nice. He makes a heck of a profit on them.
-
Pretty dang cool IMO. I would be interested in one. Like was asked above, how difficult was it to work with?
-
Might check out zen Rays. Check out some birding forums and see what they recommend. They have some good threads on glass. It's possible you might could find a pair of Swarovski 10's or 8's under a grand..... Might be worth waiting an extra year to save the money to get them. I don't think you'd regret it.

I keep waiting to see 602.942.3000 on my caller id. It just doesn't want to happen though. I put in for a unit that for the last 4 years 4 points was 100% success for draw rate. Typical that this year it changes!

White mountains are sure gorgeous right now. Even the deserts were looking good in a drive through them. Prickly pears were getting loaded up. It's amazing what moisture can bring for this state.
-
Nothing. Dang it. Even with two bull tags this year it still stings not getting a deer tag. Left overs hopefully work out.

Has anyone seen any LARGE junipers here in Arizona?
Coues79 replied to Lv2hnt's topic in The Campfire
There's definitely some big ones around here. The wallow fire got some real big ones right on the NM line. Thank goodness the gila NF manages it and allows you to cut dead standing. I've been into some monsters over there for sure! -
Let's hope they start hitting cards mañana. I need a late whitetail tag to go with my Arizona and New Mexico elk tags this year👍

LongRange Muzzleloader and White 97 Whitetail *PICS Added of both
Coues79 replied to WACem44's topic in Classified Ads
Muzzleloaders have come a long way. Wow. -
True, I mean I do still sometimes secretly hope that Cindy Crawford will come prancing my into my bedroom some night, or that one of these years the Suns may actually win a title; but then there is a better chance of BOTH those things happening than of me drawing a sheep tag!LoL. Hilarious but very true. Good luck on all three!

I cut a lot of wood and love my stihl saws. Have an MS650 and MS310. 650 is an amazing saw. Anyways, having said that, my old man has an echo CS590 and it cuts right with if not better than my 310..... Probably better. 59cc's and runs a 20" bar with no issues. Echo is a good brand. I don't think you could go wrong with an echo or husqvarna.... And you definitely can't go wrong with a stihl (don't tell that to singleshot though) ha ha. I've heard the saws built before all of the EPA crap came into affect were the best ones made. Get a saw that has specs up to a 20 inch bar. If you ever want to get into cuts that big you'll be glad your saw can handle it. Buffhunter knows a lot and could chime in on this as well. Good luck! I love cutting wood and running a good saw. Every man needs to do this several times a year and build a good wood pile; just feels right cutting down trees in a forest.

I'm anxious for the .007% chance of drawing a sheep tag! Who isn't with odds like that?!?!

I have never been impressed with vortex binoculars. If you're to the point of telling yourself to buy Swarovski and money isn't an issue, don't even put vortex in your thought process or debate. They are not the quality of Swarovski. I have had very good success with Swarovski customer service and warranty repairs as well; they are good. If you're debating, consider the Leica glass. They are top notch as well. Some folks have issues with the ocular distance with some glasses. Try them out it you can. You will not regret buying top quality glass. Leica and Swarovski are the best out there, with Zeiss close behind. Vortex, Nikon, minox fall in that mid grade line of glass. Like I said, if money isn't an issue then hands down don't even think of anything other than Swarovski, Leica or perhaps Zeiss. You will not regret that decision.

Doug those are some great pictures. You have a wonderful talent....Thanks for sharing.

Looks like some great rain all over the state. Let's pray this continues through the monsoon season and that the monsoon does not take an extended break at anytime during these next two months.

A storm came into Eagar the other night and caused some ruckus. It was the worst storm I have ever seen in Arizona. Quarter sized hail for 20-30 minutes with severe downpour. Unit 1 and 27 have been getting hit well over the last week. Some places well over the last 1-2 months. Sure would be nice to have a quail crop in the southern units this year from the spring rains. I miss a good day of quail hunting.
