Electoral College good or bad?
Coues79 replied to OpticNerd's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Not sure that the popular vote would work. Leftists can still bombard urban areas to dictate the election. The fact that Obama will appoint 3 new justices will result in the electoral college staying the same. Leftists are wise and deceptive and they know how to win an election. I would be for a single vote for every county in the country. Then the candidates would have to appeal to both rural and urban to get elected. As it stands now, if the GOP doesn't figure something out and appeal in some manner to urbanites then they will never win another presidency. The economy was the number one thing on folks mind per exit poll status. Obama has higher unemployment higher food stamp issues among a list of more..... and he still got reelected. People in the deciding states proved that despite all those failures, Obama still needs to be the president. The electoral college will still exist and it won't be changed. The GOP must appeal in some manner to urban areas in some way. I think the best thing to do is to have an ethnically diverse candidacy that relates in that way as the urban areas are the most ethincally diverse places in America. When they do that, we stand a chance. If they don't then this will be the result from here on out. Watch it happen. I'm GOP and I recognize that the diversity needs to exist. The USA has changed and the GOP is gonna have to adapt in some manner and that's not all a bad thing as long as we keep our morals and values. -
Electoral College good or bad?

Something needs to be done with it. I'm sick and tired of urban America dictating how rural America lives. The leftists have figured out that they can hammer the urban areas to be elected, change the country to have urban values and forget about the rural life. It doesn't sicken me that Romney didn't get elected per se. What sickens me is that the majority of people that determined this election have come from the urban areas that have nothing in common with rural life so we will be forced to mold to the needs of them, their ideals, values etc. It absolutely should not be about race and unfortunately it has become that. Look at the statistics of voters per race.... there's a huge trend. If the GOP ever hopes to have another person in as president, they will have to find a candidate that relates to the minorities. I don't care if the person is black brown blue or green, but it obviously does care to a lot of folks. I hope the GOP elects to have an ethnically diverse set of candidates run for the next presidential election or this will again be the same result. We live in a different time and place now. It has to happen. -
I have viewed the Kaibabs and 15 SLC side by side. My eyes did not care for the Kaibabs too much. The edge to edge clarity wasn't close to the SLC's. The center image was nice and clear however. If you get a chance, do a side x side early AM or in the evening. This time of day will show you what you want and the difference. I prefer the SLC's hands-down. Always fun to be in the market for new optics. Good luck.

Hey All, While out last weekend in 22, I lost my camera. If you happened to find one or know someone who did, I would really love it back. I have backtracked and it isn't anywhere that I was at. It had a lot of pics from my son's first T-Ball season and family/friends' photos. If you found it, PM me and I will verify the camera. If you're dead set on keeping the camera as a finders/keepers type deal then I would gladly like the SD card back and can figure out a way to send it to me. Thank you.

If his antlers grow like that due to an injury then his offspring shouldn't because his genes wouldn't mutate. If his genetics call for antler configuration in this manner then his offspring could possibly show similar characteristics. However, the cows he mates with could have dominant genes that could overshadow this defect and show normal antler configuration. Theres no gaurantees with genetics.... just probabilities.

Online draw system fails AGAIN!
Coues79 replied to Gr8 White Jr's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
And i guess we should just forget about those "real hunters" who may be strapped financially to be able to put in like the "real hunters" darn people that have hard times fall on them..... boy lets give it to em eh. Real logical thinking there. Why dont you just forget about it and move on. Let folks apply when they want and let it be. -
Happened to me last night..... would get halfway done and it'd kick you back to the home draw page. Had to tinker with it several times and eventually got everything submitted. I got to where I'd close out the browser after a successful entry and it went fine.

It would be nice to have the option to opt out of this. It would also save the outfitters and guides uneccessary postage fees for mailing the flyers to those that know for sure they are not using the service. Should be a win win I would think.

Goodness gracious. This is a horrible story to read Darren. I'm sorry to hear your little guy went through this and i hope justice is served. It's horrible when kids are taken advantage of and put in situations like this.

The one in 23/rez looks to be the Bull Flat fire.

Surprised it hasn't happened at la Casita as well.

Just picked up a 3/4 h.p. great investment. Thanks for the heads up on this deal. At $130 off..... can't beat that.

Let it be, keep the draw running the way it does. The guys above validate the wait period well. The only thing i would like to see implemented would be to have a Sr. Only hunt.

When I called on Friday and talked to "the lady" in the draw Dept. She said they would "probably" be released Monday. Hopefully the company doing the draw and credit cards will have it all together for the game and fish to release them Monday. I'm glad i used a card and know that I have a tag. Putting in on paper and not knowing would be pretty rough right now. I can't imagine game and fish "wanting" to keep things held up this long. I don't see why they'd want their clientele ticked off at them.
