I took a cow in 31, 2 years ago. Its a really, really, really tough hunt. I have also hunted in 28 and have seen sign but no elk. Heard of elk being located in 32, somewhere from the 31/32 dividing road but not sure where at. Good luck if you decide on the tamaracks. Take a 30-30 without a scope and practice shooting from the hip. I'm not sure where the elk are at anymore. Lots of rain, lots of feed. Its not a real big herd out there, so trying to find one is like finding a needle in a haystack. Good luck to you.

I understand what you're sayin'. I do agree that it will be a money maker but if it can keep people from speeding and help people pay attention, you never know, someday it might be the reason it saves a loved one. I think Casey is right on the money. Those things are dang bright. Sooner or later I see it causing an accident.

Both items sold. Thanks for all responses. Good luck on your hunts.

I have a Nikon 440 rangefinder for sale. It is a couple years old. At the time I bought it for $199 new at Sportsmans Warehouse. I have all of the instructions box and holder. Its in good condition and works just fine. $140 for the rangefinder (SOLD) I also have a Badlands 2200 pack I bought last November at Sportsmans. I don't remember what I paid for it. It has the batwing design and spotting scope holder. Its in good condition. I haven't had any problems at all with the pack. $125 for the pack (SOLD) I bought another rangefinder that ranges a little further than the 440 and am looking to get a larger pack for pack-in hunts. P.M. if you are interested. Thanks,

I remember very well seeing a dang nice buck you took from Mexico not too long back. Welcome back! Thanks, thanks a lot. And thank you every one for remembering about me. Nice to be back and try to keep up with Casey's post Ernesto C -

Hey guys and gals, Do any of you know where I can pick up a lens cover for swaro 15x56's? I lost mine last December while on my old mans deer hunt. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks

My hunting bud and I have moultrie, wildview and cuddeback cameras. By far the cuddeback cams smoke the others. Those Wal-mart moultrie suck IMO. The wildview was a cheapy and performed decent, especially for the price. It was under a hundred bucks, but no security features or time/date. When we purchased the cuddebacks they were very pricey, think they've come down a lot with some newer models. The cuddebacks have superior trigger speed compared to the other two and mine can be left for three months and have taken over 1500 hundred pics on one set of batterys. I've had pics taken of deer over 20 yards away. I like to place the camera very low (12 to 16 in. off ground) and keep the sensor beam as level as possible. I enjoy getting all wildlife, even the small stuff. I think keeping them low avoids detection as well. Good info. Thanks man. I appreciate all others information as well. Thanks.

Hey guys. I know there are a lot of people on this forum that use game trail cameras. I haven't ever used one but I am going to get into it pretty quick. I was wondering if you guys or gals would be interested in sharing your opinions on the best camera for the money? I am looking to spend up to $250 a piece. So, in your opinions, what is the best for the money? Also, if some of you wouldn't mind explain a little bit on setting them up in the field. Maybe a small list of do's and don'ts, or if you're inclined to do so, be as ellaborate as you would like. I am just looking for some information here. Thanks

I appreciate the advice. I would like to support the site Amanda. How long you expecting them to take? Now as far as set-up goes, is there anything to take into consideration? I will be cautious of location in regards to theives, however, does placement matter? Facing North, South, East, West..... High, Low etc. I would hope to get more pics of game and less of blades of grass or shadows. Any input on this? Thanks for the help! Keep it comin', I'm new at this.

Dang man. First off the guy welcomes him aboard. Second he offers some advice possibly to post the topic somewhere else. Last, he welcomes him aboard again. I don't think the guy was trying to offend no one. I know he has been a good contributor to many discussion. How would it be to offend someone else and run him off? Just like you say, you say potato, he says potatoe. Don't necessarily think he was playin' billy bad a**. Now, lastly, you guys need to quit your dip. Your lip'll fall off. Now back in the day, cope sure would satisfy. No more though. Good thing for a wife huh!

I think runnin' into a big ol' nest of Africanized bees is pretty dang scary myself. If you have a big ol' pack on, goin up a steep SOB or crossing a nasty canyon, what are you to do if you start gettin stung? They can get hold of you pretty quick and immobilize ya. Snakes and Lions get my other two votes. -

Mindin' your own business then all the sudden, some giant flying thing shoots a net on ya . Can't move, get your legs tied up, get hoisted into the air and dangled by a thread and start flying . Get let down, bi-pedal monsters get you and stick a finger up you know where, leave something behind in there, get let go and not to mention, carrying twins . Man, what a day in the life of a deer. Cool pics Amanda. Thanks for sharing them and the study!

I don't like that the only option to hunt for more than one weekend is with the Dec. hunt. I really liked the two weekend Nov. hunt, specifically because the unit that I hunt is quite a ways from where I live. I can only hunt for a weekend or possibly a long (3 day) weekend. If I didn't kill, I could go on to the next weekend. Can't do that anymore. I do like that all the hunts are seperated and do not overlap. It will be nice to have less hunters in the field. With this being the first year, it will be interesting to see the percentage of draw rate next year for this different hunt structure. I wonder which hunts will be the hardest to draw (besides the Dec. hunt)? I imagine the easiest would be the second coues hunt? Who knows. A lot to consider anyways.

Elk Impacting Your Coues Hunts?
Coues79 replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Doug, I remember a while back, a thread about the proposed changes to coues hunts. Are they going to move the Nov coues hunt to that weekend after Thanksgiving? If so, I can see how a Nov. deer tag would be obsolete to the Bull tag.
