I went out today to check my trail cams. Not much on them, but I did come across several groups of quail. Here is one group.

Just took these pictures out behind my house. It would be nice if all 15 would make it to maturity.

Skyhawk, I do not want to tell you what to do......... but for about $50 more you can get some Nikon Monarchs 12x42. I have a pair of them I use for still hunting. I also got a nice bonus from work a couple of years ago and got some 15x56 SLCs. I only use them for glassing. The Nikon will do you well for a long time. Lee

Hey, as usual I have the Nov mule deer hunt in 36a. I'll be driving a silver Z71 and my camp will have at least 1 Cabelas outfitter's lodge tent. Stop by and say hi if your in the area. My camp should be a little north of the Penitas Hills area. Hopefully I'll be in there Tuesday or Wednesday before the hunt. Lee

I used to work shift work and when I got off in the morning after a mid shift a few of us would get together, do a few 12 oz or 14 oz curls ,or maybe just a few glasses of wine. Then, when we were suffiently intelligent we would solve the world's problems also. Haven't done that in a long while. But you remind me it was a pretty good time. Thanks for the memories Lee

I would certainly call Doug at Cameraland. He sold me an olympus last year. It has a Children at plan mode. I use it for birds in flight. Here are some of those pictures.

IMHO Hunting is a process!! You need to scout, find out how your unit is laid out. Where people are salting,where water is, where the deer are bedding, and where you think other hunters will be. Then come up with a plan. Where should I be on opening day??? then all bets are off, because there will always be something that you did not count on. Then you have to adapt to the new situation. That is hunting. Lee

I have a mule deer tag and javelina tag. I'll be in 36a most every weekend. If you see a silver z71 and a green cabela's tent thats me. Stop and have a beer and some talk about the unit. I've been hunting this unit for several years now. Lee

Take the highway out of town at least 1/4 mile, turn off on the first dirt road you come to,go another 1/4 mile and your there!! Oh, by the way take Brad!?!? Show him there are just a couple of rabbits left. Lee

As I was glancing through... WON'T SAY SHOPPING.... in the Cabela's catalog, an IDEA came to me. If I bought one of these portable stands that could raise me up 17' above the ground would it be legal,ethical, or useful to pull off the road and set it up to get above the trees while mule deer hunting???? What are your thoughts?? Lee
