I work in this sh;t too! Arizona native. Born and raised in Northern Arizona. Moved to Phoenix metro in 1990. I'm ready to give this all up, walk away and start all over again back up north. The summers are getting to be too much for me lately. Hard to walk away from the job tho....

The Hornaday Critical defense 115 grain is great ammo.

I have the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield as my ccw. I know you said no sub compact, but that's a sweet little gun. With a proper IWB holster, I hardly notice it on my side. Maybe she can take a second look. Good luck!

14 points. I applied for Unit 7..... . . . . . Just kidding....think my choice is obvious!

Yup. Been on many fires that were spotted 4-5 days after the storm passes. It will just smolder until all the right conditions come together. Then boom! It takes off. There were storms in the area just a few days ago, so it's possible.

You're about 9 years away!

Man, I love a big mule deer. Beautiful! That bad boy deserves his own wall!

Friend on Facebook posted some recent pics from Long Lake. Wow! Last time I was up there was about 2 years ago. Was shocked to see these pics.

Several lightening caused fires up and along the Rim country. At least 3 or 4 I believe. They're all being allowed to burn. http://m.azdailysun.com/news/local/smoke-from-managed-fires-blankets-flagstaff/article_0315a1a6-f9f1-5863-9c68-ef9245d0959e.html

It's because people think it's another 3 day weekend party! 80% of the idiots have no clue. As long as they have their Facebook status updated, inner tube and cold beer in hand, it's just another long weekend to have a good time.

The males are perched on my fence every morning still "kaa" calling looking for a mate!
-
Cool vid! That wasn't even close! Lol Saw better races back in the day on Central Ave between Camelback and McDowell!
-
I grew up around all those lake. Sad to see for sure. Soldiers and Soldiers Annex look better. She also posted these.

Beautiful! That third picture from the Navajo Reservation is amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Glad they were able to fulfill his wish. Sad, but happy for him. Thanks for sharing.

heck, if you guys are throwing money around, I got 14 deer points for the first fanatic that wants the best coues tag in the state. It will only cost you $1000. I can then surrender my tag, reinstate my points and get back to my regularly scheduled program of applying for 13B. And be $1000 richer! :) <Disclaimer> Sarcasm alert.

RIP. Prayers to his young family.

Problem with multiple people on one app is if your number comes up, yet only one tag is left, the entire app is thrown out. My buddies and I cut the cord many years ago and put in solo only. We're in the 14,15,16 point pool now. But then again, 13B is the only hunt on our app. One of us will pull a tag soon and we'll all join in the fun!

When I worked on the fire crew way back in the day, the holiday weekends were the worst. Woods Canyon was like a little Phoenix! Used to have a road block right at the road into Woods. Made a lot of people mad. Lol Anyways....get away from the lakes and you'll avoid the crowds. I'd camp somewhere north of the 300 rd. Then just drive to the lakes. All pretty close.

Try CVAM. My parents go there and are well taken care of. It's right by Banner Baywood. Not sure on the insurance, but might be one place to look at. Prayers to your son. http://www.cvam.com/home.html

For the record, I was against this proposal when it came up. Sent my concerns to G&F. The manipulation has been discussed ad nauseam, so I won't go over it again. I think Kent has touched on the key points. I'm still against it, but too late for that. Think a few guys are overlooking the fact you won't get your money back. Last bullet point: The hunt permit-tag fee is non-refundable. The fact that the Department can do whatever it wants with the "give back" tag should be a red flag for all sportsmen and women.
