What a gorgeous day today! Weather was awesome. Had my best day so far this season. Saw deer, coyotes, hawks chasing rabbits and nice coveys of quail. Just over 10 miles of hiking through the desert made for a great day!

Feral cats are like coyotes: For every 1 you remove, 3 come back! It's crazy. I also have issues. They use my garden as a massive kitty litter box! I used the trap for awhile. Think I got rid of 4 in a span of one month. But they kept coming back and I simply waved the white flag and gave up. Hate those filthy animals.

Well, if Bass Pro doesn't buy them, then some activist equity fund will. Some are good, some are bad. Here's how one firm sees Cabelas: The companys growth had been fueled by the surge in gun sales, said Tony Scherrer, director of research for Smead Capital Management, which has owned Cabelas shares since 2008. Now the retailer needs to appeal to outdoor shoppers who arent interested in so-called blood sports like fishing and hunting, he said. Its clear they need a face-lift, Scherrer said. What they need to do is get to the people who like outdoor experience -- the REI crowd. I'd rather see a privately owned company like Bass Pro purchase Cabelas over an equity firm looking only to diversify their assists, forcing a restructure. Only to lose the core culture and shoppers of Cabelas.

Cabelas screwed up when the went public in 2004.

Set up text alerts on your credit card. You'll know instantly if you get a charge. I set mine up to alert me of any charges over $10. As long as the amount meets my parameter, I'll get an alert before the cashier even closes the drawer. Pretty slick! It's notified me of several tags in real time.

The website showed the 12th for card updates since before Halloween. So they did change it from the regs. Not sure why tho.

Heading out shortly to help my buddy and his son on the jr elk hunt. We'll get camp set up and do a little scouting before Friday. Looking forward to the elk woods! Good luck to all the young kids this weekend. Should be a great time!

Life is too short to work 7 days a week! F that! She has to figure out what's important to her. Quality of life is far more important to me.
