    Effects of the virus scare?

I did in a round about way, but kept it cordial.

    Effects of the virus scare?

I have to say, this panic is creating strange bedfellows. A liberal, anti-gun co-worker approached me “off the record” asking for advice/protocol on gun purchasing.

Hilarious! I’ll follow behind you with a shopping cart and we’ll hit the TP aisle first!

    Effects of the virus scare?

Again, If the media would just be “half way positive”, things would calm down. There’s good news coming from many places, yet they won’t report it. Here’s an article from a state that got hit hard. We must stay cautious and vigilant, yes, but a little positive news would go a long way. One of the intensive care unit doctors that I worked with made a comment that sort of struck me, which is: ‘Where all the patients?’ What we’re seeing on the television and the media is creating this widespread panic and fear, but here we are in the hospitals and the intensive care units are not filling up with patients,” he said. https://mynorthwest.com/1759265/coronavirus-news-doctor/

    Effects of the virus scare?

Unfortunately, like the bonus point system we have, people would find a way to game the system. Buy one pack, run to car, place into trunk, run back into store, buy one pack, run to car, place in trunk. Rinse, repeat.

    Effects of the virus scare?

A report from the front lines. Went to a gun show this morning in Queen Creek. Packed. People everywhere in a small venue. Everyone seemed polite, jovial and calm. Then off to Sportsman’s Warehouse. People everywhere. 2 hour wait to get to the gun counter!! 😮 Sadly, looks like another “mini” run on ammo. After that, Chili’s for lunch. Not a bad crowd for lunch. No waiting, but tables were occupied. Then.....Walmart!! What can I say. An entirely different world. Got out of there in a hurry. No thanks. Overall, with the exception at Wallyworld, people seemed to be going on about their daily lives. Saw many people on the golf courses. Trucks pulling boats, atvs, side x sides. Normal Saturday traffic. People running and walking in neighborhoods. If the media would just balance their reporting with some positive news, I think this would calm the hysteria a little. But I guess news like that doesn’t get people to watch. Unfortunately, sensationalism is a tactic they love to use.

    Effects of the virus scare?

Meanwhile, China seems to be stabilizing: There is a “semblance that production capability is actually now coming back to the Chinese economy,” Tay said, citing a decline in the number of reported infections in the country. That will likely make the Chinese economy “the first in the world” to get back on track, he told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Tuesday. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/11/chinas-coronavirus-outbreak-has-passed-its-worst-says-ubs.html The US is a few weeks behind in regards to this virus, but I suspect we’ll see the same results by April. When you look at the actual numbers rather than listen to media, it puts things in perspective. Just for clarification, I’m not downplaying what’s going on here. My beef is with the way the media is handling it. Not only is it dangerous, but irresponsible. It’s creating undo hardship and panic simply out of spite.

    Effects of the virus scare?

Fair enough. I still believe it's all political. I'll leave it at that. Our business is doing good with no issues. I'll come back to this thread on Nov 4th and see if we're all dead.

    Effects of the virus scare?

The Swine flu killed 13000 people in the US in 2009-2010 during the Obama era. There was no market meltdown. No, OMG!, the world is ending. There was no 24/7 media coverage blaming people that have no business being blamed. This is a coordinated effort by the media to crash the market. It's purely a political scheme to hurt President Trump before the election. Period.
  13. Man, you guys are brutal. Everyone here had a "first ever elk hunt". Kudos to the guy's giving sincere advice. Ive been on several late hunts. They will test your mental fortitude. After day 4, hiking miles up and down draws and canyons with no elk spotted, cold and no sleep, your mind will try to convince you to throw in the towel. Overcome this and your chance of success will increase. Good luck!

    Costco is getting emptied

Manufactured panic created by the media. 8000 people have died from the common flu so far this season, yet not a peep or concern. Suddenly a flu virus with a spooky name is the new Black Death of 1347!
  15. Yeah, I know. I was just wondering if it shows rejected or not drawn when results are posted. I was just curious. That would suck logging on and seeing NOT DRAWN- CARD REJECTED!
  16. Does the portal account show “card rejected” or “not drawn”? It’s never happened to me, but I think seeing that would be worse than not getting drawn! Haha
  17. The problem with drawing antelope tags here in Arizona is simple: 689 total tags issued. 310,000 resident licenses, 7.2 million residents and growing. 2030 projection, 8.3 million people. Antelope hunting will soon become a de facto “once in a lifetime” hunt. We can tweak the draw till the cows come home, but it will never overcome the supply vs demand dilemma unique to Arizona.
  18. I hate when our job gets in the way of hunting! Lol Someday..........it won’t matter. Retirement= Apply for tags without worrying about asking for time off! 🤠
  19. Let me preface that I’m usually pretty good about rules and regulations regarding anything outdoors: Hunting, fishing, OHV recreation, camping.....etc. My buddies say I’m anal and over research! Lol Anyways, didn't feel like driving far this morning, so I hit some State Trust land close to home. Jump in the side by side and head out with my favorite coyote gun in tote. Heading west along a trail, I notice a housing development 1+ mile away. Eventually I crest a small hill and see this sign right in front of me. I read it and realize the residents erected it. I called BS and laughed thinking they just made up some BS sign to keep people away. So, curiously I pull out my rangefinder and sure enough, I’m under this apparent “1/4 mile rule”. I shake my head, laugh and turn the side by side around and leave. When I got home I researched this “rule”. Sure enough, it’s real! lol 👮‍♂️ https://land.az.gov/recreational-permit-terms-and-conditions Bet this rule has been broken thousands of times! haha So, watch for houses if you’re cruising State Trust land!
  20. still need a hunting license or state land permit($15).
  21. Did more research and I think you’re right! That rule doesn’t apply to where I was this morning as it was open to recreation. I think I’m going to make a sign saying they left out a very important sentence and this trail is totally legal! lmao Why would some State Trust land be closed for access? Lands leased for agriculture, mining, commercial, or military purposes are not open to recreational use. Other Trust lands may be closed to some or all recreational uses due to hazardous conditions, dust abatement, in coordination with the Arizona Game & Fish Department, or based on certain State, County or Local laws or ordinances.
  22. I thought that too, but by definition, all State Trust land is closed unless you have a permit or a valid hunting license. Bet it would be an interesting court case watching each lawyer define “closed”! lol
