Kaibab Grouse Trip
AZ402 replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Cool pics Doug. I gave some grouse hunters with two flat tires a ride back to the lodge this past weekend on the Bab. I never saw a grouse or a turkey, kind of suprised... -
My wife smoked her first goat!!!

That's pretty cool, congrats to all......... -
Very nice, congrats!!

Doug the side photos didn't turn out like I wanted them to. This wasn't an actual client just a guy I've been talking with about AZ for the last 4-5 years. I had time to scout and head up that weekend. We almost had the single best pronghorn harvest shot on video. At the last minute things went wrong (buck was at 30yrds!!) Here is a side view, doesn't really do the mass justice........

That's a beauty!!, congrats......

Made the trip over to Vegas this weekend for UFC 74. It was awesome and I can't wait for the next one in Vegas. We met a bunch of fighters but didn't want to bother them with pics. We did take some and here are a few. Randy at the weigh-in. Ring Girls The crew with Big John. My buddy Mike with the TapOut crew. Me and my favorite sports-talk guy, Scotty Farrell.

It was the bloodiest fight of the night for sure. Sobral held the choke to long but Penn did the same thing to Pulver a month or so ago. UFC did release "Babalu" from his contract. I think the difference between Penn's choke and Sobral's was his comments after the fight and at the press conference.

Randy won that fight with a fractured left arm. He blocked a Gonzaga high-kick and snap (see pic)

Having him on camera for three years in a row, makes him that much cooler...............

I’ve said my peace about the hunt and the situation the ensued following the hunt on MM.com (http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID12/7945.html) I won’t go into that on this site which I hold in high regard. Although I’m not a frequent poster, I’m a big fan of CWT.com for various reasons. I want to make a response to the internet heroes and their disdain for these particular types of hunts and the hunters themselves. I’ve been fortunate to be a part of several of these hunts. Some have been successful and many have not. I see members on a handful of sites claiming these hunts to be cake-walks. Often calling the hunter a “Shooter” rather than a hunter. I believe these individuals have no idea what kind of effort goes into these hunts. Obviously the guys that spend tens-of-thousands of dollars on tags will be somewhat particular about the animal they harvest. The haters don’t see the miles upon miles walked. The hours upon hours behind the glass. The weeks spent away from the wife and kids. The time spent picking big bulls apart on video and photos to ensure a quality bull/buck for a client. Often the months of work end with no harvest. That was the case on the other auction tag that ended yesterday. There were opportunities presented but none came to fruition. The money that has been generated by these auction tags since their inception in the late 80’s has been crucial to the wildlife in our great state. The habitat that has been preserved and the projects the money has funded; benefits all of our wildlife. That includes big game and non-game animals alike. A common theme I’ve seen the last week has been fuel for anti’s. I have a feeling there aren’t many threads on the peta website about the “Droptine Bull” or the Nevada bull. Nope only on hunting websites, were guys who got info from their neighbor; blast off about stuff they aren’t 100% informed on. The only guys fueling anything negative are on these sites. I see these internet heroes talking bad about people whom they’ve never shook hands with. Never looked in the eye or shared a conversation with. Calling someone a chump, calling someone lazy and the list goes on. They have no idea who these guys are and what they are about. Once again the heroes produce something In their heads and call it good, whether it’s factual or not. I guess maybe I was raised a little different. Like I mentioned on my MM.com post, I won’t have much of a response. I’ve said what I wanted to say and I’ll leave it at that. You haters can flame away, it won’t bother me. Those that have my phone number can contact me if you want, others can PM if you have any questions. Regards, Stan Durkalec

Camera Thief in Unit 9 still going strong!
AZ402 replied to azsagebrush's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
9 has got to be the worst unit for this crap. I can't believe how many cameras get yanked up there. It really is a crappy thing to do too someone. To bad they don't make a lojack system for game cameras............ -
Dude! That is nice!!!

I was scouting pronghorn for a buddy and the only decent pics I got were these.

No coues deer but......
AZ402 replied to AZ402's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I'm pretty confident it's a Ferruginous hawk. The feathers on the legs going all the way to the feet are unique only to a few hawks. I have a Panasonic FZ5. When I can get steady it does a very good job. A lot of the time my vidoe camera is on the tripod, so it's hard to be completely still. Cramer, the scouting didn't get so bad. I just didn't get any good lope pics, suckers were running. Are you going to the happy Jack shoot? -
Coues'n' sheep, very well said on all your posts regarding this issue...

Travis, that mount turned out sweet! I saw pics at your dads house a few months ago. Stud buck and congrats.....Stan P.S. what was the final score on him???
