I think the internet and guys being attention whores is playing a big role in the decline in the deer herd as well.

Great Ideas. Killing more coyotes will really help out I think. I will be sure to do my part. I would like to add that if the desert herds rebound it would be awesome if Game and Fish Had a January premium Rifle hunt for the desert with a very small amount of tags. Doubt if it would ever happen

That or Game and Fish needs to rethink how many tags they give out in the desert units like 42. They have way to many tags in 42 for the amount of deer that are in that unit currently

well said Bruce. I have seen a huge decline in just the last 5 years. I can only imagine the decline you have seen in the last 40 plus years you have hunted the desert.

I try to stay out of the hunting drama but I can not keep my mouth shut on this one. I have followed the whole issue with Steve losing his bull and tonight when I came across this it really ticked me off. http://www.muleycrazy.com/phpbbforum/viewt...?f=3&t=1702 So Game and Fish did not let Steve take his bull because it was not recovered during the hunt. Well I can respect that since it was a law and Steve has the option to buy his bull back at the ISE show. But when I saw that game and fish was allowing this hunter to take possesion of his bull that was recovered after the hunt , it kinda upset me. I don't like to get caught up in this drama but I have heard nothing but great things about Steve and I don't think he was treated fair on his case. The WM for unit 8 has my respect for doing the right thing and allowing the unit 8 archery hunter to take possesion of his bull.

Thats why I will never apply for a early hunt in this state and rather archery hunt in January with my bow. You usually have hot weather, full moon and tons of hunters pushing deer on the early hunt.

My first big game rifle was a 25-06 that I got at age 8 and it was a great gun. Fit me just fine and the recoil was not bad at all. I would suggest it for a youth rifle.

Use to hunt them all the time in the north end of Las Vegas when I was younger. Its amazing how they come out of the wood work as soon as it gets dark. Drive around the dumps with a spot light and you would see those shiny eyes starring back at you.
