Before you buy a scope make sure you take a close look at the Vortex Skyline ED 20-60x80mm . I know the outdoorsman has them in stock and if they don't they can get one in pretty quick. Vortex also offers a 20-60x60MM called the nomad The Skyline Ed runs around 650 and the nomad runs around 320 Vortex also offers a lifetime uncondtionable warranty

Here is a desert carp I stuck with my bow today. Shot him at 47 yards. Glassed him up beded down 1/2 mile away and decided to put a stock on him. I was chasing a bigger buck in the area but I guess when you have a chance you might as well take it when your bow hunting. Oh yeah deer hunting in august in the desert SUCKS!!!!!!!, can't wait for January to get here with cool temps

How do you like those berger VLD's ? I have heard good things about them regarding ballistics and knock down power but also heard they jam in your magazines because of length ? I think they need to be toucjing your landings ? -
Any one know a good taxidermist on the west side of town ? I was thinking about having a taxidermist do a euro mount for me.

Taxidermist on the west side

I did take it to Gtt today. Saw some of his work and I can honestly say he does some nice work. He is not big enough for a shoulder mount I think. Besides I got a coues deer at the taxidermist still and I got 2 elk tags this year( 1 on the fort apache res and 1 in unit 10 ) so I might need to save some money just incase I need to mount a bull or 2 . -

It cost under $400 and the only place I have found that carries them is the outdoorsmans. http://www.vortexoptics.com/spotting_scope...d_straight_60mm -

well looks like i will be taking back the leupold spotting scope and getting a vortex nomad instead. I went to the outdoorsmans and did a comparison and the vortex is the way to go. I even compared the Leica and swarovksi to the vortex side by side and the vortex is hard to beat for the money. -

I will let you guys now next weekend after I go out scouting. Going to be interesting because only thing a have to compare it to is a swarovski HD. I figured for under $300 bucks you cant go wrong and it does seem like a good light weight packing scope -
I got my Carp tag in the mail on Thursday or Friday .

I got drawn for any antlered deer in 20C. I have a few spots up there that I know hold some decent muleys but I have never seen or heard of any coues in that unit. I was wondering if any one has heard or seen of any coues in this unit ? I don't mind chasing muleys but if there are some decent coues bucks in my unit I would rather chase them.

good looking pics. Nice to see it getting green down there
-
After blowing up the pic to get a better look he looks like a nice mature bear . He is definitely a shooter thats for sure. If you want to pass on him I will shoot him for you and tell you what his skull measures ?
-
that buck had some nice length and mass for a desert muley. I like that 5th point
-
That buck in the top pic on the left side has some potential to be a shooter
