  4. Thursday evening I watched two young guys in a newer white Z71 chevy with a matching camper shell break the little tree and steal the trail Cam I seen the cam a couple days before when we were checking out the water and put my hat over it so we could look for tracks " I don't like to have my picture taken" I think it was a wildveiw. I got a good look at both of the @#!$ that did this as well as their Licene Plate # so if you are the one that did this PM me and we will see about getting this Cam back to who it belongs. If you lost your cam off YOUR water hole PM me and you can get the info you talked to a guy from Washington named Terry. Others please don't be offended by the YOUR they earned it.

  11. Danny is a great gunsmith hence the wait time. There is another great gunsmith outside of Flagstaff His name is Chris Horn. His phone # is (928) 607-0234 he has done some awsome work for me and builds some unreal long distance rifles. I would not think twice about either one of the two they both do great work. Chris has a web sight as well hornscustomrifles.com Happy Hunting

    The Claw

I bought the claw from Mr. Jim White for use with Catch a Dream hunters. It was a must for one young man on his elk hunt. He is a quadriplegic and could not hold the rifle up. The Claw worked great for him it took a little time to set up do to the wheelchair and the tri pod that I used. I have now since built a pod that will clamp onto the chair. I strongly think that without the use of the Claw and alot of help from the lord we would not have been sucessful on this hunt. P.S. DO NOT CLAMP IT ON YOUR WINDOW EVEN A 243 WILL BREAK IT LOL Ty W Hart

    Bull elk in 6A

Congrats that is a great tag!! Try to stay away from the sabots they just do not have the penetration. I know there will be someone that will say I am wrong but the more weight the better. And most important is to close your distance!!!!! Do not shoot at an elk over 125 with that thing they are way overrated just ask any good meat processor they will tell you how many rounds they find in elk. You might be able to hit them but not kill them. Another thing to take note of is your wind age. Wind drift is very hi at any distance. As to find what is right for your rifle that just takes time on the range. I have found that most of my friends that shoot zip rifles try to stay away from any plastic on their rounds it tends to melt to the sides of your barrels Causing tough reloads and inaccuracy. I have two friends that prefer the old fashion mini ball in their zip rifles. If you want to have something a little better that is also a great investment go out and buy a original and shoot round balls. You might be amazed how well they shoot, and it is real cool to take you game with a rifle that is over 160 years old. That is what that season was for. Take into consideration that alot of companies boast thing that are just flat not true of their products just to sell them. Good luck on your hunt

    windage

I have a friend that has some very extensive charts on windage for round balls. I will see if I can get that for you. As for the drop it sounds a little high but I shoot the old originals and high-end customs they seem to carry WAY better do to the riffling. You might try to play with ball size and patch size to build a little better pressure. When I started out I had a real cheap Charles Daily and it was worst that any of my smooth bores. Two great books are Lyman Black Powder Handbook & Loading manual and DIXIE Gun Works Everything Black powder. I have an extra Lyman if you want it. Send me a PM with your address and I will send it to you.

    Elderly Deer Hunt

I have been blessed with the opportunity to guide on several hunts for hunters with limited mobility issues. I know the north central part of the state real well and would be more than happy to point out some spots for your aunt to hunt. I have found that most older hunters do not like to travel far for their hunts. If this is the case let me know and I might be able to point you in the right direction for some nice bucks both Coues and Mule deer that are easy to get to. Your aunt sounds like a great person to get to know; she could more than likely teach us all a thing or two about hunting. I think it is a great thing to be able to go hunting with someone that has the passion but not the body to hunt hard. I have learned to not sweat the small stuff “ie what unit” and just trust in the lord on these hunts. I have been on hunts that were hard hunts for someone that was in shape and had game do some just unbelievable stuff. They are always the most fulfilling hunts because any able-bodied person should be capable of taking big game.

    Help Kids

My name is Ty W Hart (walkingw) I guide hunts for Catch A Dream here in Arizona. I donate the outfitting food, transportation and guiding for the kids. I have some friends that apply for tags as well as myself to donate but this year we were unable to draw any tags. That is where I need your help, I need tags to be able to take these kids out. Catch A Dream is organization that grants kids with life threaten illness their dream hunts at no cost to them or their families. They have one youngster that wants an Arizona rut Archery hunt. I would invite whoever donated their tag to come on the hunt with us. It is by far the most rewarding hunts I have ever been on. Please take the time and check out Catch A Dreams web site. You can call the Flagstaff Game and Fish department and ask them about me. (they love me for this one) God Bless my E-mail is walkingw@yahoo.com

    Selfbow huntN (anyone on here).

I love to hunt with my stick bow. I made one years back and have taken alot of game with it. I ran it over and my wife bought me one of these new bows with the works, I had more issues with that bow. I bought a new X force last year and went to a bow shoot with it and seen someone shooting a stick bow at that time I knew I had made a mistake. Dont get wrong the X force is awsome but it is still not a part of me. I bought me new stick bow and the next day went javelina hunting with friends. I missed a coyote do to hitting a branch and got two jacks with only three shots the frist day. I have now taken five jacks, one coyote, and Javelina with that bow and have had it for 33 days. I wished I had the time to build a bow but this one works good for now. Your bow looks real nice. You should be very proud of it and never lean it up aginst you pickup. Good luck and God Bless

Guess the Score Contest - Jan 2010

    128 AND 7/8
  20. I way prefer Swiss powder I have found that 1 1/2 F in the Swiss works the best. It is so much cleaner burning you will have to clean a tenth as much. You can see the difference just looking at the powder. It is real black powder not fake. It was made to shoot in small arms not cannons as was Goex. The winter Nationals Muzzle Loader Shoot at Ben Avery is in January "I think" there is always a guy there that has some but be early he sells out fast. If you need some now I always have some extra or I can find his number and get it to you. You can get it shipped to your door. Good luck

    Knight Muzzleloader

If you are going to muzzleload do it right or just stick to a cartridged rifle. Zip rifles are for the lazy or the disabled. Why would you waste your time? It took me 20 years to get a muzzleloader tag for elk here in Az so the odds can't be much better of getting a tag. If you want real fun get a old orginal they are not much more to buy and alot cheaper to shoot and not such a pain to clean. Good luck

    Best Smoke Poll?

Why even bother!! If you are going to hunt with a black powder rifle go with a BLACK POWDER. If you are going to use one of the new disc rifles you should have to put in the genaral hunts. I think that there are two hunters: one that is in it for the kill and one that is in it for the hunt.
