    YOUTH DEER HUNT

You know what. Its really a ton of fun. And it is a great opportunity to give back to a tradition that we all love. Kevin Hall, President of the MDF Prescott chapter puts on the best youth camps that ive seen and been a part of. He genuinely cares about getting these kids the best all around experience possible. this year the camp has doubled in size. From 6 hunters to 12. The word got out that we got it done last year. So we have our work cut out for us. If any CWT members would like to come out and help these kids it would be greatly appreciated. I have a coues hunt at the end of October and could be scouting for it but I cannot pass up an opportunity to give back to our future. And to be honest its a blast to be apart of something that is a milestone in a young persons life. I do not know a Doug. But then again Im horrible with names.

    sitka versus kuiu

I also am running the Kuiu Teton gear. Non restrictive when hiking and being Mobile. Keeps me warm when its cold and cool when its hot. Ive ran the old cotton camo for years and would never go back. Hunting AZ is uncomfortable. Having clothing that make the hunt as comfortable as possible make all the difference.

    Little brothers first buck

Thanks gentlemen. He definitely earned this one. We chased a couple big bucks the 3 days prior that would have ruined his archery career. Lol he really wanted a big one but said he wouldn't pass on the first one to give him an opportunity.

    White ford 6b

Saw two cwt stickers. The ford and a Tacoma. Around noon saturday on the woody mountain rd. My grandfather and uncle were up in the pines hunting. I was in the 95 degree heat below the rim spot and stalking. My little bro tagged his first buck with a bow. Good luck gents

    20c/18b juniors deer camp

I volunteered at this camp last year. It was a great turn out. My buddy and I had two kids from central California tagged out sunday. I recommend all that have the time to go and get involved in these camps. They are a ton of fun. Great prizes to be won as well.

  18. This year I have decided to switch up my hunt choices and challenge myself with central AZ coues deer. I have been hardcore into muleys the last 4/5 years. After harvesting my muley last season and Many opportunities and missed shots with my bow at bruiser mule deer the past few years. This year I put first choice my usual mule deer unit because ive been hunting a particular giant muley for 3 years. Its a unit with a 35% draw odd. My second choice is a coues deer hunt in the adjacent unit with a 90+% draw odd. I am super familiar with my mule deer unit and have never set foot in the coues hunt unit. Im looking for any input/knowledge/advice/tips about these gorgeous little deer and how to go about hunting them in the higher elevations. I am a spot and stalk style guy. So I am no stranger to glassing and picking apart country for hours. If you would like to chat and know more about the "specifics" of my choices shoot me a PM. Thanks for your time and have a great fathers days gentlemen!

    Central AZ coues

I drew 6b early rifle coues. October 30. I prefer to hunt more open country spot and stalk. But it seems like these deer might be a lot higher than my scouting is revealing. I have found some really nice muleys on my scouts in the lower country. Thank you guys for your response. Let me know if I can help any of you out in any way. IDGAF Ill post up a pic.
