Any thoughts on glassing etiquette ?

I always yield to the person that's already there glassing unless there's been a prior "sharing" agreement made and its the day off for the other guy, then I sit down next to them. I used to get frustrated with people glassing to close to me , but with time I learned we just had to glass harder and it didn't really matter how close they sat to us we always ended up doing the shooting. It really comes down to glassing ability , and not necessarily position to glass from.

Signs you might be a D-bag

Yeah seriously! Have you not seen the eyelashes they grow here in AZ vs. other states? Being able to see the forest thru the tree's has become rare these days. Guys it's the whole picture of quality i'm talking about here. Of course cows are the same in appearance, but it's arizona's herd over all your paying for, ie;the gene's that cow elk is carrying are much better, the potential is also much better. I wasn't trying to hijack this post i simply made the first one about tag fees, and got jumped on by the paranoid island crew.

This has to do with over all quality. Mercedes vs. volkswagon again. I'm not jumping up and down with excitement about tag price increases either, but i do realize that a steak from denny's costs less than a steak from a high end restaurant. Anyone want to guess why, instead of me explaining why?

Are you saying he shouldn't be able to spend his money as he sees fit???? Or are you demanding he divides his personal pie differently. To Share more with wasteful gooberment agencies, you, and every other son of a gun that feels entitled!!!! Take care, Willie Please leave paranoid island for just a second if that's possible. Nobody is trying to tell anyone where or what to spend the money on, please put your money where your mouth is though, pretty please!!!

Signs you might be a D-bag

Nobody is telling anyone where to spend their money chief. The only thing people seem to be saying is put your money where your mouth is, and if you don't like something don't buy it, or at least don't buy it and then complain about the very decision you made yourself. As for being paranoid i'm not complaining and moaning over something i love to do, which is hunt , and the costs of doing it. I'll bet that horse costs a pretty penny, why didn't you give the guy heck that sold it to you. Answer, you paid for the horse cause you probably love riding that beauty, nothing more and nothing less. Same reason your willing to buy a tag and a license i suspect, same goes for hunting. Whether your buying a horse to ride or a rifle to hunt with, it's all your decision to make the purchase, not the government's or anything else. i'm not being paranoid at all, just being realistic, but some will always look at the glass half full, those are the paranoid one's in my opinion.

If you bought the rifle to go hunting, which is more than not the case, the tags seem like a bargain. If you were willing to spend 10 times the money on your rifle than a tag and license then somethings not adding up here. Why aren't you calling your rifle company and complaning to them and the government about how much you had to spend on your gun to do the very thing you love which is hunting. The rifle company is the one sticking it to you, not the g and f. Please explain why your not ranting about all the gear companies and what they charge instead of going crazy over the game and fish. Backwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please explain!!!!!!!!!

I don;t know about you, but my memories last a life time, actually much longer than the rifle would. The memories from that week long hunt, priceless. The rifle just another piece of junk i have to clean. Did you buy the rifle to go hunting, or did you go hunting to buy the rifle?

Complaining about license and tag fees, and then going out and buying the top of the line bow/rifle/binoculars/backpack/rangefinder/spotting scope/game camera/scope/high end hunting clothes/ ect.ect.ect....
  15. Guys i spent 150 dollars on saturday in gas and lures going after brown trout in one of my favorite honey holes here in our beautiful state. I didn't get a bite or see a fish though. We better raise the fishing license fees also, so we can stock more fish for me to catch. Who's with me!!!

    Youth Barbary 31"

Very cool, I want one. Great job.
  17. Bonecollector777 , I don't want anyone to get priced out. On the flip side of things I at least understand that there isn't anything in this world that doesn't go up price wise on almost a yearly basis. I also would be willing to bet that some of the people on here complaining about the prices are Also people that are upgrading their Swarovski old school 15 power binos for the new hd version, and willing to pay that much more for a 10 percent increase in quality and that diff is hundreds of dollars. If it isn't binos its some other peace of their gear that has to be upgraded to stay competitive in this game we all like to play. With that being said a raise of a reasonable amount could be easily justified. Somehow it's not though , but we are all willing to pay thousands and thousands for gear to garnish afield. This doesn't make sense to me at all. For the ones that this analogy doesn't fit , which is few , and are priced out by the increase then I must admit that sucks however you spin it. I've had times in the past when I barely had enough money to put in but I manage to sell something else or do whatever it takes to make sure I'm in for the draw. I would rather carry k mart special binos in the fieldand have to sell my swaros to go hunting another year then miss out. I would sell one of my favorite trophies to get the money to keep hunting, that's just me though. If price increases end up weeding someone out then I guess that's just reality, but it has nothing to with me wanting anyone to be left out.
  18. Mercedes verses volkswagon. My last post on this one.
  19. Thanks i needed that!!! When bone collector draws his next 23 north tag, and I'm sure we will all here how excited he is when he gets it. Price disputes will all go away when he gets his tag, kinda funny don't you think.
  20. Ya, bonecollector777 gets it for sure, more whining indeed, and more government is out to get me stuff. You have to be capable of seeing the whole picture not just 20 percent of it. Also for the government is out to get me stuff being purported by 777, you have to be able to see thru the anger long enough to see the whole picture. It's tough to do sometimes i know. Game and fish is the only company that raises prices, heck i better be able to buy a 2014 chevy duramax for the price chevy charged in 2001, wait another conspiracy.
  21. You have your blinders on bud, you do have diff. choices. You can go hunt other states that have elk , which would correspond to your nice list of restaurants in your post. Each one of the states that have elk are the equivalent of your list of restaurants. If you look at it that way it makes sense. Did someone tell you that you were not allowed to cross state lines or something, let me guess it was the government. You have just as many choices as a guy that lives in colorado or any other state you choose to hunt in, and more than a guy that lives in a state that doesn't have elk like ohio. Maybe you should expand your horizons a little bit, get out of your comfort zone so to speak. Saying you only want to hunt arizona is a pretty confining statement don't you think? How is the g and f bending you over here with a small increase, lets be serious here. And yes you will have to pay to play in your own state, or your going to have to find another restaurant to eat at, or for those with little reading comprehension another state to hunt in. I'm only going to hunt elk in az, so these darn azgfd are going to have to accomodate isn't a good argument, sorry. i'm not a fan of raising prices either, but when you look at the whole picture, it makes sense. Bonecollector, your going to have to read thru the whole story/picture to comprehend the whole pic, not just the first few sentences.

Very nice buck, and with a bow. Congrats
  23. Now here's a guy that gets it for sure. Price increases are going to happen no matter what over time. Chalking up normal price increases for anything that matter, don't always have to involve a giant government take over or conspiracy. What about increased wages as time goes by, and adjustments for cost of living in several people's salaries. This i s simply part of life. That's pretty much all i was sayin. Spot on hornhunter24/.
  24. Well put desert bull. I thought this was a discussion about tag prices though, if it's not then what is it about. Some on here also agree that tag prices are just fine. Be honest with yourself , is it cause i disagree with your opinion and i'm not jumping up and down about the prices being to high, or is this a post about gila monsters or something else. I'm confused now what is this post about then, please explain so i can stop reading it.
  25. I don't totally trust the government, or hardly anybody for that matter these days, but i also am not one of the government is out to get me types either. If they wanted to get me then they would have showed up at my doorstep long ago. There's a fine line in my opinion between questioning things the government does and just being a paranoid skitso about everything. What's ironic about the paranoid camp of people is when someone breaks into their house at night the first people they call is the government run institution called 911, and ask for the government cops to come save their butt. Very ironic. Everything has it's goods and it's bads. Back to the subject though, people who are super pissed about tag price increases should show their utter discontent by not putting in, it's actually very simple. If i don't like eating at jack in the box, then i don't go in an order a hamburger there. Some would rather go in and buy the hamburger even though they don't like jack in the box, but instead not eat it, and stand there and complain about the hamburger price. Just don't go in the restaurant, just like don't put in and support something you have so much detest for. Just sayin
