They always stop right at the pile of corn for me, so I don't have to say a word. Cornbagger.

WOW not again. I still believe there is more to the ban than the harvest of deer. It is the harvest of trophy deer that is the driving force. Sadly I think it is driven by pure jealousy. Do you think anyone would care about baiting if you only harvested spikes and forkys using this method? Tonto Rim: How do you bow hunt these rim units?
-
You sound like you know what needs to be done and I guess you are looking at using this gun as a challenge. I just believe in murphys law. First day you are going to see the trophy of a lifetime at 350 400 yards and your going to think why didn't I bring the magnum. Anyway good luck Murphys law might only apply to me.

Sun Devil: I always see people crossing the fence going north. So I figured the better hunting was north. I will have to try south of the fence. NRS: That is the type of input I am looking for. Nice directions. Thanks Maximus: I know 22 is the greatest unit on earth. I still don't know how I ended up with a stinky 36C tag. Yuch! The stench of this tag is awful. GF should pay people to hunt this POS unit. I must of made a mistake on the hunt numbers because Unit 22 is normally my choice 1 through 6. Got Coues: Come on man! You have to fully commit to my hunt or your off the team!

Since you are " Kaibab Hunter" aren't you in the wrong unit? Good luck.

Am I the only one who thinks this round is a little bit too small for mules? Definately not saying unethical or anything, just wondering if you put a decent, but not a great hit on a 200 pounder and it runs away how are you going to feel about your itch then?
-
Yep, any scouting before hand would be to just familliarize yourself with roads and terrain...and to enjoy that warm fuzzy feeling knowing the tag is in your pocket! For the first or second hunts, scouting for certain bucks is much more worthwhile. For this reason I prefer the first hunt over a DEC tag. Sure some years the Rutt will be in full swing and deer move, but it is not for certain. If you find a nice buck before the first hunt he will likely be close by. Then the only worry is someone else is after the same deer.

Alright BIG Orange welcome to the team. My success is your success right?
-
OK, got you guys. west of the fence is the place for the bigguns! Got me real excited. Now which one of you hot shots is going to guide me west of the fence? Packhorse could you pack me in? Casey if you wore your BP uniform could we maybe get some big ones west of that fence? Possible chopper support couldn't hurt right. Glad you guys are on my team. Sweet.

how do you get the "new" smell out of your ground blind
bobbyo replied to kennyazman's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I would not worry about the "new blind smell" one bit. Worry about stinky human smell more. -
125"+ change New photo added
bobbyo replied to longshot 260 rem's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Wow those brow tines really are not browtines are they? It is like the deer is browless like a muley and you are starting with g2s. Beautiful deer congratulations. again -
Archery HUNTS!!! Some food for thought.
bobbyo replied to Becker's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I get real sensitive when special regulations are made for archery only and Rifle hunting stays unchanged. It seems to me the closures are due to a harvest objective that is made to preserve the RIFLE season and not necessarly made to benefit the deer. How about this alternative idea. Archery hunters are real successful. Eliminate a RIFLE season. -
What kind of post is this? Trying to be all logical and stuff is not going to get you anywhere on this site! Also trying to take the competition and EGO out of hunting? What are you a communist. You probably voted for Obama. Of coarse my 700 yard rifle shots and my 100 yard bow shots make me better than you and everyone else. heck I don't use turrets or pins like these other sissies. Good ole Kentucky windage proves I am the best. Now bowhunting is where my superiority shines. No treestand for me. Not only are those tree monkey's, breaking The LAW. They are doing A FEDERAl offense! YOU see even though members of this site hate the govt we do love laws no matter how stupid they are. The saintly FS knows that the scratches and holes those bow primates cause is damaging. Maybe the limb they cut for the shooting lane could sprout the seeds to regrow the 1 million acres lost this summer. It ain't natural. My hats off to FS for solving the treestand problem in unit one. I am relieved that those stand hunters won't be damaging any trees. Heck its illegal. They should be on the ground like me, a real man, hurling arrows at critters "300" style. I'm all about Full Penetration at a great distance even if I lose the animal because well I'm a Man's man. I can see by your name "hunt4fun" that your priorities are all wrong. In the woods you are probably smiling and stuff not taking hunting really serious. You probably are even happy about taking a non book buck! Really we don't need your kind involved in the serious sport of hunting or on this site. I would say more, but i got to load up my ATV with a 30 pack of BL to go to New Mexico. Bob

Wow, what a great buck! Congratulations. That is a pig. Are you getting him mounted or is your bro's bugs going to take care of him? Bob
-
Great job! I like that buck!!! Your persistence is unbelievable. congratulations. Bob

This whole minimum poundage requirement is silly. Why have any minimum? A bow poundage really means nothing. A 30 pound bow from todays tech can out preform my superjuiced mach 1 with extra long overdraw and 21 inch arrows from the 80s. So I can use a 15 year old bow set at 40#, BUT NOT A SUPER EFFICIENT BOW SET AT 30# FROM TODAY. IT IS RIDICULOUS to use poundage as your only parameter. Unless G+F makes everyone shoot their rig into penetration jello they should just drop the whole rule. In the end we have to police ourselves. Lets face it most 10 year old's are not mature enough to go on a elk hunt. If they are they can probably pull back more than 30 or even 40 and the person taking them should know it. Bob

Nice Job!

Standman, Great post. Hope people read this and realize that stand/blind hunting is hard work and just because you have a picture of a pretty buck doesn't mean sh--. Having similar experience here, although your attitude is so positive while mine is a bit more grumpy. Still planning on putting in 12 hours manana, beats the heck out of working. Bob

Wow great excitement. What do you mean by "absolute giant buck"? I really have no rutt activity happening on my mountain. Just wee little one's with does. Losing my patients.

January 2012... You can't kill all year long if you don't start the first day!

Just joking Bro. I don't mind walking in the most beautiful valley in the world.

Im calling BS on this. I am not saying it never has happend, but I work in the Riparian area EVERY DAY. I have NEVER seen a off duty BP, Sheriff or BLM employee in their personal vehicle hunting behind locked gates. Also those keys are accounted for pretty hard (I have one that is inventoried pretty regularly) so I doubt they are being given away to their friends. I do know some that hunt it, but they walk in, just like you or I. The reason that there is so much vehicle traffic in that area is because smugglers use those areas to drive around the checkpoints and the SD and BP work the area to partol the area for them. Yes, it is true that occasionaly BLM will allow biologists or others in there in their private vehicles but I personally cannot comment on that. If you ever see a BP or deputy or BLM hunting either on-duty or off duty in their private vehicle, I would suggest that you call BLM dipatch or their respective agency and they can be held responsible for it. Hey Bradne can I borrow your key. There is a sixer in it for you.

Do you really think 70 inch 1 1/2 year old bucks are breeding the does? Likewise if you had your cameras out all year and have nothing large maybe it is time to move on. Probably the best thing to do is show me the place and let me hunt it awhile and then I will give you advice on whether you should hunt it. I guess that is as good an answer as any on what you should do.

Are you kidding me! That is the best Javalina I have ever seen. AWESOME. Congratulations, Bob
