Unit 22 with 23 a close second. You should really have all your friends and family put in for these units.

Nice job so far. just wondering if you are using mock scrapes or natural. Also if natural do you freshen it. Bob

January 2012... You can't kill all year long if you don't start the first day!
bobbyo replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Wow! Nice buck. Congratulations. I didn't know it was a race to get the first deer of the year. 110 or nothing for me, unless a deer walks by me. Bob -
I think all Reputable binocs are great, but what I cannot do without is a fluid head for the tripod. When i use my friends non fluid head I'm like WTF give me my Bino/tripod back!!! I don't see how anyone uses a non fluid head that includes some real expensive ones from sportsman's, ect. A $80, $90 dollar fluid head will make all the Bino's mentioned a dream to use.

Lane +++ everyone else. Becker's post was taken the wrong way. His post was mostly saying in a good natured way to let it all hang out on your +++ bucks. Scoring is really not that hard and most people can probably be 98 % accurate the first time. Personally ++ and -- scores are fine with me. Us rednecks don't like no freaking fractions anyway.

bobbyo replied to Buck Smasher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I like to use my arms when I pull back a bow in a blind. -

Are my eye's deceiving me or is that a forky with the worlds biggest split browtine? Awesome buck. Imagine all the antlers that stud has broken in his life. Probably did us all a favor taking him out. Congratulations. Bob. Hate to be a pest, but more angles of pictures to show magnitude of mass. I am guessing you must have close to 40 points of mass measurement to get to 130. Wow what a beast incredible. -
Good reason to bowhunt.

Traveling for coues MO to AZ part 2
bobbyo replied to CumminsRig's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Since you shot all the good deer in Arizona it is only fair you get us some Missouri deer. Congratulations, Bob -
Oh yea that buck is 113. Real bruiser
-
Looks like he shot that buck in the Matrix in the first picture, but then the rest looks like unit 22, right? What a stud buck congrats. Bob

Do both. Glass mornings and evenings. sit water (sleep) between 10:00 and 3:00. Likely you will miss your mid day rest once you glass something up, but if not a water blind is great for the mid day doldrums.

So the obvious question is: How much for your urine? I need about a quart to last through the season. Bob

Now we know where Mike Stoops went. He is teaching tackeling to the scum devils!

How is that pig a non typical? Oh I get it, Coues are typically not that big! Wow Nice deer.

Saddle, if you can tuck a blind in and have good shooting lanes. Can make a mock scrape near where the two trails meet. Easiest surest way. http://keithwarren.net/?p=1409 Under the tallest tree with a few low hanging twigs is best. Bob

My family cannot wait until next years hunt. This area will be great! We always hunt together and we just love to hike as you can tell from our hiking sticks! We will be waiting in line to shoot all the coues bucks in this great area! Next year can't come soon enough.

Congratulations on your first deer. It is a real rush. Congratulations to your cousin too. Bob

get a life dweeb Although he should of used a PM and I wish he didn't bring up my name I still think people are overreacting to CouesFanatics suggestions. I have had special places that I considered "Mine" that I have saddly lost due to hunting pressure. So if I saw beautiful panoramic shots posted of my special place I would of PMed the hunter. Here is why, I really enjoy trying to figure out where the hunters took their animals, just from the pictures. Some of my best spots are found this way. One thing we use to do a lot on this site was "Name That Spot", from a mystery picture. Since we don't do that anymore I just try to do it from trophy pictures. Bob, P.S. Please keep posting the photography, I am running out of places to hunt.

Colorado Was Good To Me!, 5x6 191" Mule Deer
bobbyo replied to motoxno53's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Awesome Deer.Everything about him is huge. Look at that head, WOW! You are in good shape to be able to hunt in those conditions, well at least you are in good shape now! Congratulations. Bob -
Spent today in 36C helping a buddy. Perfect conditions. Seen deer throughout the day. 26 does. About 8 separate groups in different areas, but nooo bucks. I think if conditions hold. Dedicated hunters will fill their tags. A lot of activity (feeding) in the noon to 2 time period. Full moon behavior?

"I adjust, and the shots are all over." Scope Mounts?

That area looks familiar. Sounds like a great hunt with great deer. I would love it if you could post your gear list and brand on another thread. I think my set up of rifle binocs, tripod, packs and hunting gear is close to 45 pounds without anything else.

It is a hard hunt. But yes there is huge deer. Horseback through the mesquite jungle flats, or tracking right after a rain is the best methods. I think it will rain on Saturday night!!!!!!! Glassing points are few and far between, usually with a crowd.
