Yours looks in amazing condition, a museum piece for sure! Is that how you found it or has it seen a wire wheel and a rattle can?
-
According to your OP, I believe you could proclaim the victor "Winner Winner (imaginary) Chicken Dinner" Could you not? Seriously, awesome find! Can't help but think you are the real winner! Also, were you metal detecting or did you spot it on the ground?

Great deal on some awesome pups! GLWS

In our dry climate I'd be most worried about wood stocks drying and cracking overtime. This underscores the need to pull them out and and give a light wipe down and oil annually.

If the issue involves not cycling properly, see below. I have an older 1100 with the single gas port that is chambered in 3" mag. I understand that later they went to two gas ports. It got to be finicky when shooting any low base rounds. A through cleaning and silicone spray and o-ring replacement helped a ton.

The affinity for ham sandwiches makes me think they must be part Labrador Retriever. If in a duck blind with my lab and your lunch is out.....well, just hope you brought a backup sandwich. Hope you find the owners or a find a good home. -
I'd say run her 'til the wheels fall off, then put them back on, and run her some more! Save that $600/mo (modest est. I know) truck payment in a retirement account. In hindsight, I have regretted selling most vehicles I have owned.

Thanks Kev, I think you know our heart was in the right place. My background has made this a regular discussion point professionally and the course was referred to me years ago when my kids were in the permit stage of life. I found it valuable so that is why I shared. It's the old "need behind the need" I need a car. Why? Inexperienced driver wrecked theirs. So what you need is your driver to gain more experience so you don't have to car shop every six months. Check out the statistics on this website regarding youthful operators. The stats are sobering. Nobody's child/grandchild is immune (mine included). https://www.safetyinsurance.com/driversafety/tips_statistics.html No different that hunter's/firearm safety in my opinion. Luck is not a factor. Wish I had a car for you! If you find one in Phx and I can help you, let me know. All the best to you and yours.

Sorry about the wreck, glad they are ok. I put both my boys through this hands on training course where they learned to handle a loss of traction and how to properly use their abs systems to avoid collision. They drove cars with plastic skid covers on the rear wheels. It was a great experience for them. Knock on wood, so far so good. Doug Herbert, a top fuel drag racer, lost both his boys in an auto accident when they were driving to McDonalds on a Saturday morning. Absolutely tragic, worst nightmare for any parent. He started this program. https://putonthebrakes.org/about https://putonthebrakes.org/shop

1st choice: Thinking of Zip-It s with a #8 screw should do it see tech data on the link below. Claim to have 70# sheer strength in 1/2 drywall. These are my go-to for towel bars that kids are hard on when no backing is present. https://www.buildsite.com/pdf/dewaltanchors/Zip-It-Product-Data-2054670.pdf If above fails: You could look at other hollow wall anchor systems like toggle bolts. https://www.homedepot.com/b/Hardware-Fasteners-Anchors-Hollow-Wall-Anchors/Toggle-Bolts/N-5yc1vZ2fkp96iZ1z1r733 They will look great. Best of luck

Not the only time in history that land purchases were ridiculed at the time. Too bad they didn't buy more as they left so much prime Coues habitat on the table. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/sewards-folly

So many jokes here. Why am I not surprised by the make of the car or the state in which it's registered. My biggest shock was to find out it was Cheetos that lured the critter into the car and not granola given the above. The javelina would have likely gotten away if he had thumbs to help grip the steering wheel. OK, I did not say they were good jokes.... You got any better ones? https://www.12news.com/article/news/local/arizona/a-javelina-in-a-car-is-the-most-arizona-thing-youll-see-today-april-2022/75-529b9249-bdeb-4ea1-af90-83f71d0f508d

Thanks for sharing. Learned something new. Use them for cut bait or put them under the tomato plants? https://fishaz.azgfd.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Copy-of-Lake-Pleasant-Fisheries-Managment-Plan-2019-2029.pdf

No price tag on my box but may be from the same era. It’s hard to find staynless/non-mercuric rounds these days! 🤪

Calibers for next years youth gun giveaway?
HorseHunter replied to Crazymonkey's topic in The Campfire
Consider fitting whatever you choose with the LimbSaver recoil pad. That product really tames a 30-06 for kids shooting from a bench. I raised 2 boys and did not have a bunch of caliber options for them to choose from. There are also lots of managed recoil rounds on the market too for the youngest shooters to practice/get repetitions with. Then parents could dial in with 180gr as the kid likely won't notice recoil when shooting at game in the field. Plus, kids grow so darn fast. As stated above, I would stick with commonly available calibers. I believe that shot placement is more important than what caliber (within reason) for anything we hunt in AZ. Cool convo though and awesome you are encouraging the next generation of hunters! -
I have 168k on my V-10 in the 'ol 03 f250, same as above. Pulled my gooseneck across the country twice with the two ponies in it just a couple of years ago.

They just use a deer crossing sign.....

In 1989 I saw a cow elk just off the side of the road in the treeline off of I-17 with two broken rear legs. Seeing her try to stand and the crimson-stained snow is not something I will forget. Not a fitting end for man nor beast.
-
Not new news but great to see they are considering wildlife migration routes in road planning. I always liked seeing the crossings in the Nevada desert.

Yeah, that dink buck reminds me of that homely gal I dated in high school.
