Ok here's my plan I'm going to hunt unit 8 for the first week. If I am not having any luck In 8. Then I'm gonnna head to unit 27 for the last two weeks. I went up and scouted unit 8 about two weeks ago. Got a couple spots picked out. I dont know 27 too well if I can get some advice on that unit, I would appreciate it. Send me a PM.

I failed to draw a North kaibab archery tag, and yes, my heart is broken ! I had my heart set on that tag, not to mention having three weeks off of work to hunt the early archery season. So here's my question, Where would you hunt if you had three weeks to hunt? I'm leaning towards unit 27 or unit 8, or Maybe unit 33 remember I'm a mule deer hunter, but would take a whitetail( but not too sure) . I'm creating a poll to go along with this. Remember I shoot the best bow in the business the PSE Bow Madness!!! Threw that in for free!!

Very true Red rabbit... I took three weeks off so I could pursue a true kaibab trophy! I know where some real monsters hang out up there on the kaibab, so I am heart broken to say the least! I am going up to unit 8 on monday to check it out.

I shoot the best bows in the business!!!! Which of course are PSE bows!!!! PSE Bow Madness!!!! I would never own a Mattphews, that would stink!!! The thought of owning a Hoyt, well that just Hoyts too much!!!

Well if you are shooting that , you may as well just stay home, you cant hit anything with those anyway, maybe you should just take a camera and go to the Kaibab anyway, at least then you would get some cool pics ag lOl!!!! That hoyts!!!!! Gotta love it!!! At least its not a matthews!!!

Ouch that hurt!!!! If I had the tag I'd be telling everyone too! In my opinion it's the best tag in az!!!

Theres no shortage of big bucks up there. I have been archery hunting it since 2005, unfortunately I didn't draw the tag, this year! Congrats thats a great tag! If you want a big boy you gotta pass up the young bucks, lots of them up there!

I am bummed out! I didn't get drawn for my first choice archery kaibab! I got a november unit 28 mulie tag.

+1 Park link area & owl heads are a good place to find them. You can glass from the owl heads.

Monday Jan. 4th was the first day I could go archery Javelina hunting, we were planning on being in our hunting area by first light. That didn't work out, and we were running late!!! I decided to be dropped off and hike about a 2 miles to where my hunting partners were going to park the truck. About 25 minutes into my hike my buddy calls and says we just got into a herd of 20 javelina. I thought just my luck, I made the wrong choice, I should of just stayed with them! So now Im thinkin I gotta get to where they are. How wrong I was! I walk about 400 yards and jump up a herd of 8 javelinas out of thier beds, one stops at 40 yards, I draw back and miss! They're gone but I remember the post on Javelina calling, so I get my electronic call attached to my pants pocket and start calling, nothing comes in. So I start walking again, I walked about 100 yards when I see 3 Javelinas 40 yards in front of me. My mind says shoot but part of me says call!!! So I hit the call button, the lead javelina immediately stops and turns towards me, then takes off running straight towards me with the other two behind it! It's charging towards me so I draw back and when it is about 15 yards out still running, I'm like head shot or no shot, so the arrow flys true and hits it right between the eyes, drops it in its track, Yes, what a rush!!!! But I got a problem The other two javelinas are still charging towards me( the electronic call is still screaming)!!! I start yelling at them and one of them turns to the right but the other keeps coming So when it was about 2 yards out I swing my bow at it and it runs to the left and behind me. Whew!!! Now I can celebrate my success!!!! The Slick tick broadhead did the trick. The arrow penetrated through the skull down the neck and the broadhead was sticking out the ribcage!!!

These Javelina were called in with a Cass creek electronic call( you see it in the second photo on my right side). A Hunting buddy gave to me a few years back. There is a post here in the bow hunting section called "Javelina calls" with some great info.

That was an awesome experience, I'm hooked on calling!!! My buddies didn't tag monday. One them went back to the same area this morning and tagged out!

PSE all the way!!! Great shooting bows!! Best customer service and made right here in AZ!! I Shoot the 32" Bow madness and love it! Shoot the others but Make sure you shoot the Bow madness for the money it can't be beat!

Just wondering if anyone has been hunting 36a since the archery season started. I'm wondering if the bucks are chasing the girls yet? I'm going after mulies, but I'd probably shoot a Coues if I came across one, I'd have to think about it. ; Of course I'll be carrying the best bow in the world the PSE Bow Madness!!!

He did say he would be carrying it!LOL We have not seen much activity yet. Good luck down south. Now that HOYTS!!! On the serious side thanks for the info.
