I do like the 15 yard pin idea....

That's interesting... When I have to 12 ring a less than 5 yard shot... I use my 40 yard pin. Arrows land low as they have not gained the height yet. 40 yard pin puts them right there.. To get on the post (sorry).. I still keep a 20 yard pin even though it seems like a waste of a pin.

Hey All, So I went up to set some cams in a couple "old faithful" spots last weekend. When I got there, the area was on fire (one of the controlled fires caused by lightning).. The FS said they will hopefully be done by the end of the week. My question is... What are your thoughts on that area for September? Do you think it will have fresh growth (making it actually better than normal years) or will it just be an ashy mess that the elk will avoid for a while? We have taken some good elk out of 6a but it seems most of my intimate knowledge has gone up in smoke... Thoughts?

Unfortunately, after this, you may still need a buffalo... It can be a very long hunt. I have no regrets but I was not successful and I spent 19 days up there last year in September. My buddy has been up there for about 2.5 weeks so far and he has only seen night time trail camera photos.. Make the best of it and try to enjoy every second of it. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT HAVE TAGS!!

Those bears sure do mess up a camera.. One day I found my camera about 20 feet from the tree and it looked like swiss cheese it had so many bite holes in it!! Great pics!! Thanks for sharing!
