    unit 10 muleys

Look on the map, what's the most popular grape juice name brand. that's a really big clue. don't be surprised if you find some wild donkeys, rock quarries, but no deer. Those deer are spread out and hard to find when they are not rutting. Try doin a drive with at least 4 other hunters, the more the better, if you don't know how to drive deer use the map and plot your courses as to move the deer out in front of you something like quail. Don't shoot each other. Those deer will push out like some quail when you find emm. definetly wear snake gaters going scouting during the early bow season. If you go then you can watch how the deer react to pressure and how they move when you put a drive on emm. I think the cougars know where the deer are at, hint hint. And a big buck always know's where the cougars are too don't be fooled. Don't end up in a canyon after dark. Don't get bitten by a rattler. Prey every night for god to give you a mature buck and safely guide you and remember your in the wild, and things can get to wild for you really quick in that country, always carry a dependable sidearm and be prepared for armageddon. By the way, that means take clotheing that will allow you to survive through a freezing rain and long cold night. Always keep that gun loaded anytime you venture into the home of wild animals. Drive slow, you never know.

    Antlers on Ebay

It's enuf for me to take pictures of sheds and then let someone else put them up in there cabin or home. who buys and how do we sell them. I know some people just set up roadside. other people go to the swap meats and try to sell. but what do yall do who are selling sheds. I got a whole pile that have some memories attached cause of when i found emm or where but i could also use some cash for a nice pair of antlers. I also heard the koreans or the asian market buy them and grind them up into special viagra type drugs. If i find some good elk sheds out there i'm gonna sell them to someone who will display them.
  5. At least there is some way for people to organize themselves who seek to volunteer and patrol the border. This is better then some of the vigilante stories i have seen on tv and heard other places. ONe such vigilante swore to kill any illegals he saw crossing the border. This guy had a 50 caliber gattling gun in the back of his pick up and was basically planning on useing the illegal immigrants for target practice. He's serveing 5 in prison for his last attempt at patrolling the border. I think he mouthed off in town at a bar before he was going out to patrol one day and somebody turned him in for conspiracy. I guess he tried to find some friends to help him reload his machine gun in case he found a whole mess at once. He's lucky he's locked up cause i don't think he would have survived long doing that. If i was trying to cross and i saw some dude drinking beer sitting in his pick up with a gattling gun i don't think i would miss a good opportunity to kill him. Plus this dude needed to sober up. At the same time i feel bad for him. Who knows what set him off like that. I think he was also a racial supremacist if i remember right or at least he was saying that after years of beers. I think he believed he would go down for what he was doing he just thought he was being a man of principals. I hope things get better for everyone in the United States and Mexico. If you run into smugglers out there, ive' heard the border patrol get's right on top of them if you call them with the GPS coordinates.
  6. time for the story behing the pic. god i love hunting stories. especially when there about hunts iv'e been on. this lion was killed early in january bowhunt in 1999. southern unit around patagonia. this lion took a carbon shaft, 100 grain broadhead between the eyes at 35 yards after being called in from 100 with a rabbit distress call. The broadhead lodged in the rear of the skull. Later on that day another stroke of luck, the same guy that shot the cougar, flung an arrow at a doe and double lunged a small buck that was about 10 yards behind it. I went back to the area for december 2005, saw a bear at 10 yards, a beautiful cinnamon and blonde color. No lion sign but the bear sign is thicker than i've ever seen anywhere in arizona. however, no tags are available in the unit for some time now. I didn't let an arrow go at any bucks but i did have 3 opportunities on 2 different bucks. I just couldn't get the crosshairs in position like i should have if i had done some more practice before the season. Good luck shed hunting in the next few weeks. and mucho gracias for the help posting this pic.
  7. i got a pic of a cougar killed with bow. somebody please help me post it. i can email it

    San Carlos Spring Bear?

Ive' heard theres some bears on Mt. Turnbull whatever unit that is in, i think C. Ive' joined in on 2 hunts on the the San Carlos. One was the Mount turnbull unit. The other was the dry lake unit. Dry lake area has a reputation for attracting alot of bears. I personally didn't see a single bear on either hunt. I did glass up 9 good bighorn rams off Natanes rim. I watched them but heads for about an hour while the man with the bear tag stumbled around on top of the rim. For some reason we found dead cattle all over those units. And the coyotes didn't even touch none of them. We must have found at least 7 or 8 dead cows one day! ON a side note--we drove the roads up above the black river on the apache res in june and saw some bears.
  10. I have the book!, but it's not updated. It's about 5 years old. I never had much luck with the book though. Iv'e found 2 wildlife tanks with rain catchers and underground holding tanks on my own. I think there are alot of them not listed. in the book they listed like 3 or 4 of them in every unit. Some units only listed 1 or 2.
  11. Hey everyone. I hope everyone that bowhunts is haveing a great time so far this late season, keep sitting those desert tanks for big bucks. I'll be heading most likely to alpine to stay for 3 days and i was hopeing someone might know a good place where the deer are rutting hard. I really wanna tag a nice buck. I was thinking about going down by the blue river where coues and mule deer run amuck. Does anyone know if good numbers of deer are at the upper elevations? Any kind of tips or advice will help me. Mainly I'm looking for something i can still hunt slowly, maybe a water tank to work around.

    what to carry for javelina

go 30 30. That gun is good brush gun.
  13. I went out for the end of December to hunt whitetails by patagonia and saw my first real cinnamon color phase bear. This bear was very small. Its track was the size of my palm without the fingers. i guess it weighed under 200 pounds. I was checking on a buck i had pushed out in front of me to see if i could maybe get close again. I gave up and turned around and started looking for a place to sit down and have a smoke. I glanced to my left and saw the small bear standing absolutely still. I started to get scared the bear might charge and try to eat me so i drew back my bow and held on him or her. As seconds went by nearly into a full minute the bear stood absolutely still with it's eyes bearly open. After a while it was obvious the bear was sleepy and I was assured enough to let down my draw. When i let down my draw the bear opened it's eyes a little wider and stood still for about 10 more seconds before running a few steps towards thick canyon then it slowed to a walk or maybe even layed back down for all i know, I did not pursue. I played it in my mind over and over again afterwards. It sure but a rush to see that bear early in the morning just as the sun was comeing up I wished i had my camera on me. I am going back in january and will bring my camera this time. Hopefully i can get my buck and some bear pics. P.S. Located a large buck.
