Ah Jeez... There is no such thing as 'But one God' in Mormonism. (As God is, so man may become-LDS theology). Want another round of history and verified LDS literature that says just that? I've got 'em under my sleeve. And C&S, if someone came on here saying this and that about the B&C minimum score for coues deer was 200 inches, don't tell me you wouldn't gently correct them! If someone came on and said you're son's coues deer from New Mexico was actually an eastern whitetail harvested in texas, wouldn't you at least say something? And if someone came on here and said coyotes can get caught by their muzzles in a leg hold and die (yes that was me), you'd probably call them out on that too. Or the typical 90 pound female lion. Or the lion that goes over 300 pounds. I think you like to call things out when you see them as much as anyone. This post is no different. So imagine something so serious that it affects every aspect of your life and potentially the hereafter, and there's a ton of sketchiness surrounding it. Then imagine someone illicits attention for it on a HUNTING site, with information that is just short of being accurate. Who in their right mind wouldn't say something! And for all the comparison about Catholicism and child molestation, you might have a case if the Catholic Church actually condoned the act and made a doctrine out of it. Because that's the issue here. Brigham Young said no man would see eternal glory unless he partook of God's new covenant of plural marriage. And the LDS church heralds him as a prophet! Should we just ignore these kinds of things? Should we just let them slide? That kind of attitude of sweeping things under the carpet is what has led this country to where it is, not because we don't all want to hold hands and sing cum-by-ya! Wow, sounds like someone has a serious dislike for LDS folks.

I shoot the QAD Ultra-Rest Pro and love it. Now i will warn you up front it is somewhat pricey (around the $130 mark) but it is definately a sweet rest.

Went down to 36C on Friday and Saturday, had a great time on Friday and saw quite a few deer, Saturday was horrid as the wind was relentless. Friday we saw about 40 deer all but one were mulies. THe one coues we did see showed up at our blind outa nowhere at 62 yards and i passed the shot to my hunting partner which he gladly accepted only to have his arrow deflect off of a branch he could not see, oh well was a rush none the less. Out aof all the deer we did see 4 were bucks one being the coues i mentioned previously (probably a low 80's buck) and 3 mulies one of which was a toad. You can bet i'll be back out on Friday!

Do any of you fellow archers who plan on being in the field for the opening day of the Dec archery hunts (in the southern units) have any problems doing so even with the late rifle hunts going on as well? I for one feel like i have just as much right to be out there chasing the critters with my bow as do the rifle hunters, but i also know that alot of rifle hunters get real pissy when they see bowhunters in the same areas, any thoughts?

I see you are from Tucson, what part? I am too and I am wondering how long it takes to drive to 36c? I am planning on staying in 33 and maybe 37m because I will be hunting only a day or two at a time. From where i Live in Tucson it takes me roughly an hour to drive to where i hunt in 36C which is fairly close to the middle part of the unit.

Well i will be in 36C with a friend of mine Friday and Saturday chasing deer with our bows, not going to camp but will drive in and out each day. Good luck to all who will be out.

Likewise, its always nice to met a fellow CWT member specially when its out doing what we like to do. I have posted a few pictures of the Bobcat my son (Cody) and I took yesterday. As you can also see there is a pretty decent sized Diamondback in the picture as well, it was one of 5 we ran into yesterday. The Bobcat was interesting, Cody and i were headed back to the truck after a short walk when i caught a glimpse of something kinda orangish colored ahead of us about 150 yards. I racked my brain and at first thought it was probably a lion so i told my son to go up one side of the small draw and i would go up the other. As we got to withing about 30 yards of where i had seen the animal disappear, my son popped off a shot with his 12ga and next thing i know this bobcat was scampering away right in front of me. I hit her with 2 shots from my 12ga and she was down. What had happened was as Cody and i worked up the sides of the draw she pegged me but had no clue Cody had come up behind her, Cody said when he saw her she was intently watching me probably hoping i would walk on by. After she had expired my son walked back over to where she had been watching me and low and behold there was another rattlesnake coiled up in a prickly pear. All in all it was a fun day, 6 quail, 1 cat, and 4 rattlesnakes. The Cat was pretty old, she was missing one of her upper canines, one lower canine, and all of her upper small teech were worn down pretty far. Me and the critters Cat and the snake Cody and the critters Critters

36C.... Guess the location -
I'm going to have to say Bow, whithout question. Killing a big game animal with a rifle doesnt even come close to taking one with a bow as far as the adreanaline factor goes, of course thats just my opinion.

I have been contemplating switching to a drop away rest myself. I currently use a WhiskerBisquit and am looking at the QAD Ultra Rest Pro Series HD. I have a friend who just recently put this rest on a Mathews Drenalin and the groups this guy is shooting are pretty remarkable. Do any of you out there have any experience with the QAD drop away rests?

Last Thursday my son and I decided to give it one last try for archery deer down in our favorite unit (36C). We left out early and as we drove south on 286 we passed no less that 15 BP vehicles all of which were headed north. Well we get to our chosen location and set out in search of some antlers. After a couple hours and a blown stalk on a 110"+ buck we head for the truck. As we come up out of the wash and head to our vehicle only we find that we were not alone . As we got to the truck there was another vehicle on the other side of the road from us and there were two individuals one of which was without question a UDA, the other was a white guy who politely asked what we were "chasin". I told him we were out hunting deer, the whole while i was watching what they were up to, each of them had two 1 gallon water jugs in the hands and the bed of the truck had at least 30 1 gallon water jugs in it. I told my son to hurry up so we could depart the area. As we departed i intentionally backed up and got the license plate number and watched the 2 guys disappear into a draw which i am sure held a whole group of UDA's. As we drove outa of the area i had made up my mind i would flag down the first BP agent we came across after all they were everywhere as we drove in. To my amazement there were no BP agents in the area NONE i did not find a BP agent until i was on Sandario road just short of the monument and this was about 40 minutes after we came across the suspicious truck and activity. I gave the agent the plate number and location and was on my way. I cannot describe how angry i was at the situation in regards to the guys and the water, but i was even more angered at the lack of BP presence, do they all go home when the sun comes up? because they sure werent out and about.

opinoins on the .300 WSM?
DotShot replied to jeepers creepers's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have a Rem. 700XCR in 300WSM and love the thing to death. I shoot factory ammo (Federal ammo w/165gr Barnes TSX) and am amazed at the accuracy. I have had the rifle for about 3 years and have taken 3 Coues with it all at varying ranges from 361, 130 and 75 yards. Recoil is not bad as even my 14 year old son shoots it and that can be attributed to the Limbsaver recoil pad that is factory installed. So all in all I have no complaints. -
Did anyone notice?

I go this in am email as i was reading through this particular thread and it pretty much sums it all up: hout Merry Christmas!!! 'Twas the month before Christmas when all through our land, Not a Christian was praying nor taking a stand. Why the PC Police had taken away, The reason for Christmas - no one could say. The children were told by their schools not to sing, About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things. It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say December 25th is just a " Holiday ". Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it! CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod Something was changing, something quite odd! Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda. As Targets are hanging their trees upside down At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found. At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears. Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty Are words t hat w ere used to intimidate me. Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton ! At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter. And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded The reason for the season, stopped before it started. So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "DreamTree" Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me. Choose your words carefully, choose what you say Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !
