    Any luck in "c"

Man there is no call for that, where are the moderators? since when did this become a place for folks to come disrespect others? And callin someone "Honey" is not disrespectful.
  2. I shoot a .300WSM myself and am sold on the Federal ammo loaded with the Barnes 165gr TSX, pricey yes but it really does the job quite nicely.

    36C Nov Hunt

I've got the Nov. hunt as well and have been taking quite a few trips down there to check on the water situation. I know that the area i will be focusing on has got about 13"+ since the start of the monsoon season. I have attatched a picture of and area we checked out and pay attention to the date on the picture, its hard to beleive its that green at that time of the year. I would venture to guess the temps will be in the low to mid 80's during the day with over night lows in the mid to upper 40's.

    Caliber preference

I have jsut sat here and read through this thread and can help but chuckle just a bit. Personally I shoot a .300 WSM and thats just because i like the gun, however, i have shot deer with a .25-06, 22-250, .308, .30-06, .300 WSM and many others that i havent mentioned and i have come to one basic conclusion, if you know your limits, the limits of the gun, have fairly decent marksmanship skills, have taken the time to zero your rifle for the ranges you may encounter, are willing to wait and take a GOOD minimal risk shot and know your shooting ability limits, you too can be successful. Its entertaining to sit and read everyone's opinion knowing full well that no 2 people will agree. There is talk of velocities, knock down power, this bullet that bullet, and to think for a majority of my hunting life i have shot factory ammo in a bullet weight proportional to the game being saught using the cheapest optics around, wearing blue jeans and a dark shirt, smokin like a train, and i cannot think of but one deer hunt that i was not successful and that was only because my wifes grandmother passed away on teh first day and we had to leave to go to a funeral. Now the older i have gotten i will admit i have started wearing camo, upgraded my optics and such but to be honest everything else has remained the same. Find what works for you and get after it and dont buy into someone else's hype.

    Tires for Sale !!!!!!!!SOLD!!!!!!!!!!

I guess the price is too steep, I'll drop the price to $400 and if they still don't sell I'll just store em somewhere.
  7. I have 4 Bridgestone M+S Load Range "E" 245x75x16 Tires off of a brand new 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD for sale. They have 275 miles on them and are 8 lug rims. I upgraded tires on the truck and have no need for these. Asking $500 for the set of 4 PM me if interested. I'm located on the Northwest Side of Tucson.

    Tires for Sale !!!!!!!!SOLD!!!!!!!!!!

Are they off-road or street tires? -TONY They are street Tires and are now priced at $500 for the set and would even consider delivering them to the phoenix area.
  9. I headed up to Camp Navajo near Bellemont last thursday in pursuit of my first elk with a bow. I was fortunate enough to take this cow on Saturday morning at around 0610. The shot as you can see was just a tad far back but the angle she was at allowed for a liver/lung shot. The arrow did not pass all the way through which made for a less than stellar blood trail, had i not seen that the arrow was still in her after the shot and decided to slowly trail her as she moved away i probably would have had a heck of a time finding her. Anyhow, as this is my first elk with a bow i can safely state that i will probably never hunt elk with a rifle again!

    First Elk with a Bow

I was using a 3 blade Muzzy 100gr at a distance of 58.5 yards, my only guess as to why it did not pass completely through was the distance coupled with hitting a rib on entry and a rib on exit.

    10x42's

I went over to Sportsmans Warehouse here in Tucson yesterday and looked at the Monarchs as well as some Minox and i am almost certain that i'll be buying the Nikon's. I can understand the argument of saving and spending $1800 on the Swaro's but in my mind i cannot justify that much money for binoculars! I greatly appreciate all of the advice that was offered as it just reaffirms that the folks who frequent this site are the cream of the crop when it comes to the Hunting community.

    First game animal

Took my 2 boys and one of my oldest boys friends out hunting some 36C jackrabbits and my 6 year old was able to bag his first game animal ever! The look on his face says it all! I can tell you that by his reaction after taking the animal you'd have thought he bagged a world class buck! As a father it is times like these that make it all worth while.
  14. Wow a bunch of cut throats in here! And for the job comment, if you make a mistake yer right they dont pat you on the back and give you a raise, but they also dont fire you and hire the next guy in line.... And since when is it ok to punish someone else for YOUR mistake? (your being G&F) I sure wish i could have written a personal check and paid my fees like all the paper applicants w4ere able to do and therein lies my point...double standard end of story.
  15. I am interested to know how many of the individuals who voted "No" applied online?......i would venture to guess that a majority of them did not. I also wonder how many of the "No" voters did not get drawn at all (and are looking for any excuse to add another tag to the pot of leftovers).
  16. With that mentality, G&F blew it with the online draw, so lets give everyone who applied a tag....c'mon be a little bit realistic. G&F messed this one up and i personally think they should have to bend over backwards to accomodate the online applicants, stupid or not.
  17. THen why give paper applicants a second chance cause they cant follow simple directions when it comes to filling out an application?

    36C November Tag!!!

Myself, son, wife, dad, brother, nephew, friend and his son all drew the Nov. 36C Whitetail tag. This makes 2 years in a row that all 8 of us have drawn this hunt first choice both years! Its a great hunt and last year we were able to fill 4 of the 8 tags.
  19. It's a real crappy deal across the board. First they hire some fisher price outfit to run the online draw which results in a suspension 2 weeks into the process. Next they decide to not charge the credit cards used in the online application process and force the online applicants to pay by cashiers check or money order (yet paper applicants cna use personal check) and only give them 8 days to get the payment in. What about those individuals who are out of town on business or vacation for an extended period of time? I personally think its only fitting that they give the idiots who sent a personal check more time to get the appropriate payment type sent in. I mean after all isnt there a grace period for those who made mistakes on their paper applications (even though the instructions are pretty dang simple to follow) in which the G&F notifies them of the mistakes and gives them a chance to correct them? So again i personally think its fair.....

    25 WSSM

I am partial to the 300WSM, the ballistics are unbelievable, recoil isnt too bad even without a muzzle brake (my 13 year old shoots mine), my only gripe is ammo price. I shoot the 165gr Barnes (which are hard to find) and they are almost $50 a box BUT, i used one shot last year at 361 yards and the animal didnt take another step. I for one am sold on this caliber...

    New Video Camera

Prior to purchasing a new video camera recently i did alot of research on the HDD cameras and did not like what i read. Most of the reviews were quite negative on video quality produced by these new cameras which lead me to purchase a Mini-DV tape camcorder instead. I am really interested in seeing some of the videos you take to see if there was any validity to the reviews. Also with the zoom that you have make sure you have a tripod and hopefully the camera has some good video stabilization casue it will get awful jittery without! Good luck and may you get some awesome footage from your upcomming hunts!

    Draw Results Available Online

For those who had to send in their payments because of the online app issue, were the envelopes sent by the G&F postage prepaid?
