  1. I guess you can wait until someone else posts him on this site, hmmmm, I don't think i would like that and I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't want that ethier, as for me I would be just as proud to have my kid take the deer as if it were myself doin the shootin, to me I have hunted with my nephews since they were old enough to walk in the hills and its been a fun ride watching them develop into great hunters and anglers, my last elk hunt my oldest nephew was there with me to see me make a kill and it felt pretty darn good, remember one thing, they don't stay young forever and think of the memories that you will have,I say go get him, and have fun and if it don't happen well I guess you can say you had fun trying! Good Luck.

  2. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I really needed that knowing I won't be able to hunt the late kiabab hunt of a lifetime. A lot of you guys were really close on the gross score!!! He was measured at 104 6/8ths gross, and 88" net. Lots of deductions!!! He is by far the biggest buck I've taken so I'm pretty stoked!!

You should be stoked! hes a great looking buck, great job but too much patients,I would have taken him the first time.

  3. It sounds like its official, at the end of this year you will have to start putting in for Archery Deer, and its archery or rifle, no second trys.

I'm happy, less yahoos running around with bows, inless they are serious...

I think its about time they make you decide what you want to hunt with, now the only thing they need to add is the archers that are applying need to qualify with the bow in order to apply, I believe you owe it to the animal. as far as having both tags you are still only allowed one deer per calendar year anyway, not one with rifle and one with a bow. I also have to agree with KWP about the restructure G&F created. to me its another way to grab more money for apps, but I still like the idea of choosing.

  4. I will definetly try and avoid the roads, even though I dont know of many areas that roads are not spaced out every 1/2 mile. Was wondering if the new burn area is closed to motor vehicles. If so one would think that would be a good place to try.

I was in the Kiabab last month it was getting alot of rain everyday the burn area was open I didn't see any roads that were closed at that time, the burn is starting to green up so it might be a good place to hunt I saw a few deer near the highway in that area. so the are starting to go back in the area, if you decide to spot and stalk take along a pair of sneakys, they will make you're walking alot quieter.

  5. I agree still too freakin hot and last weekend when I was scouting my unit I never heard a peep from any elk, Good luck to all you that were luck enough to draw and yes you do have bragging rights it only took me seven to draw for a bull again.
