Ernie! Glad you finally got on here, Kiddo!! It took you long enough! Tell your Dad hello! Great pics, Congrats!! You need to share some more of your pics!! FYI.... Everyone...... Ernie was my ACE pitcher & home run hitter on a Little League team I coached in 1995 or 1996.... he is a great kid!!! He looked me up last year and sent me some pics of their last few hunting seasons.... He has become quite the hunter and I am sure his Dad is proud! Gino

We had the pleasure of meeting Brad on "the Strip" last year and all I can say is, "Thanks, Brad!".... What a great guy! All the guys he hunts with are awesome as well!! I'd hunt with those guys any time and their pics are proof of the results they put up in ol' Mex!

    pack frame ?

IMO..... Any comfortable internal packframe..... Line the inside with a heavy duty 55 gal trash bag.... slide 4 quarters and all the boned meat off of the torso into the pack and add the head and cape to the top..... and away you go! BTW... make sure you get the meat out of the bag ASAP once at the truck or quad! I air cool the meat before loading the pack last thing... it buys you enough time to get it out in the plastic.

A few more elk scouting pics

Not much of an elk man, but I couldn't get 385 out of him or even close. I hope the guy that kills him does though and more. I too, fought how to score him..... The pics on here do the bull no justice.... in all the video I have and the hours of looking at him on the hoof.... I started at mid-370's and slow talked myself up to 380"-385".... and am probably wrong.... the longer I look at a bull the more I second guess the score.....

    Happy BDay

Thanks everyone for the posts, the PM's, and the phone calls!!! It was a good day at work and an outstanding evening of drinking beers on the porch with my Beautiful Bride.... just the two of us... she sang me "Happy Birthday" over one candle on a big ol' whipcream iced cake with a deer head and fall colors on top! Just me and her and the dogs! What a perfect evening! Thanks again! TJ, A friend of a friend took that dog (Shiela), you love so much off my hands about 2-3 months ago.... ... she had an issue that I couldn't seem to fix and he thinks she is the most perfect dog just as she is.... sooo.... she is happier where she is and very well loved. My wife knew I was pretty bummed about the whole deal, however, and brought me home a new lil' "Heeler" pup this last week for my B-day present.... Heelers are the most perfect dogs for me and my lifestyle, so this was the greatest gift, and my ol' female heeler is really showing her age as of late and being that she is "The Best Dog" I have ever owned.... there is much that I want her to teach this pup. It has already begun..... I'll post up some pics soon. Mike, I think I drank one for all my friend who were not there! Thanks, again! G

    How to Squirrel Hunt?

+1 That is how we always hunted them as well.... however, with the lil' guy you might consider a 4/10 shotgun. Good luck. Squirrel hunting is a great leason in eating what you shoot.... Pretty good table fair and the kids get a sense of putting food on the table for the familly!
  20. I got this in an email yesterday..... and it is a dang better sollution than what our polititians will come up with..... I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved. Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads Put away money for college – it’ll be there Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car – create jobs Invest in the market – capital drives growth Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’ s really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+! As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up. Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t. Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.” But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividen d more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC. And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest. Kindest personal regards, Birk T. J. Birkenmeier, A Creative Guy & Citizen of the Republic &n bsp; &n bsp; PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it’s either good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85 Billion!!

    CALLING ALL DEMOCRATS

Got give a shout out to Lark.... Thanks for your educated posts in this thread.... Your politics is almost identical to mine! To write in a vote is supporting Obama... whether you want to do that or not!

  24. Is my first thought when reading the first posts of this thread.... And..... Is my second thought....... And.... If there was an emoticon that spelled out Boo-Hoo..... ... it would be my third thought! I also agree with Rembrant about using pm's to "share" info with a member.... or pick up a phone... I share info all the time... on a 1 on 1 basis... not on the world wide web. It is a matter of courtesy to my fellow hunters who have busted a hump and burned fuel & resourses to learn a unit and be a better/more proficient hunter. Showing your knowelge of a particualr unit to all the e-scouters does not impress me or anyone else who has hunted hard for very long.... I know a lot of other people's "Honey Holes"... that does not provoke me to go there or to tell someone else about it.... that is my personal choice..... a choice that many others are not willing to make in an effort to make "new friends" or seem "important" to their peers. I, also, agree with Bowhunter4life in that the subject matter should be kept free of vulgarities or suggested vulgarities. Nothing related to hunting needs to involve those things.... I love reading and being a contributing member of this site very much.... I enjoy the differences in opinion as much as I enjoy the success stories, or informative threads..... I think "thin skinned" is a very good way of putting it... If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen... I have been unjustly crucified by Trolls/Lurkers... I am still here. I, and my points of view, have been the center of great debate here and responsible to some obviously hard feelings at times.... (guilty, as Casey would say).... I am known for saying what I think and believing what in what I say. I love a good old fashion debate... you win some and you loose some. I will probably be slammed for having an opinion now, but I have broad shoulders and can handle burden. Our differences and our similarities are what bring us here, we need not harbor Perminent hard feellings about mere words or ruin "life-long" friendships because we feel the need to express a point, or over express a point. Opinions are what make this site and our Country a great place to be. I have made many friends here on CW.com and hope to make a few more. And to those I have offened or have offened me.... "No hard feelings.... I'm over it.... you should be, too!"
