    Proud Poppa!

Had an interesting conversation with a friend (who has decades of dog experiance) that admitted to disliking this breed of dogs, having been around only a many ranch raised heelers that were very protective to the point of biting... ... she then admitted that having met my two she had a different oppinion, having seen that there was No bite tendencies in either of my dogs. I have been around many heelers that are not bite-ee but I found it to be all about the environment they are raised...mine will get so excited when they see kids that go nuts... absolutely love to play with the kids for hours. They are still great watch dogs and with a nipping reputaion most folks give them space witch I like. But our dogs live a domestic life not a barn life... they are in our trucks on a daily basis, in public, in the woods, and by our sides... that is what makes the perfect heeler IMO.

  20. Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness... The following is a portion of the transcript: "Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. "The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart. "In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. Your laws ignore our deepest needs, Your words are empty air. You've stripped away our heritage, You've outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, And precious children die You seek for answers everywhere, And ask the question "Why?" You regulate restrictive laws, Through legislative creed.. And yet you fail to understand, That God is what we need! "Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. "As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge...Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen again. Darrell Scott

    What Happened to Gino's thread

Gentlemen, Pardon my absence… life has been full and time has been short… I am disturbed and probably honored that you all seem to think so much of my interpretation of laws that you need to start an additional thread about it. I am also disturbed by the feedback on a personal level that I have received about this site… people are calling you all a bunch of MM.Com acta-likes… and that is very Sad for Amanda who actually mentioned to me that “pulling the plug on the whole dam forum would solve the problem.” How, so many threads on here have spewed a foul odor and disrespect of one another? Guys… that is NOT what the intention is here on this Forum or any forum… And YES I got my Arse chewed multiple times on a personal level for the tone I set with my previous thread… but I was also quietly praised by just as many for saying something that a lot of guys were thinking and/or questioning in there own hunting spots…. However, in lieu of the fact that no one seemed to share or care about my interpretation of moral/ethical on the previous thread, I find it useless and counterproductive to even begin to address the legalities of the subject. I wish to also tell you that I did not fully ready any posts on the thread that exploded unless I was being verbally mauled… and responded to those… which was useless in retrospect. I am sorry to all the good readers of this forum that they bear witness how foul the thread became. I really have no regret for the thread it self but it certainly got out of hand in terms of class. Other than that, the foulness spewed in my direction did nothing more that illustrate, from my perspective, the kind of people that will say anything to get a rise out of someone, protect their agendas’, or in attempt to discredit a valid opinion. As it was, mine was an Opinion and nothing more. The legalities of what I am assuming your questions involved are in general practice, at the interpretations of officers in the field that are forced to police complaints… So I would assume if you really want to make friends with you local WM or Forest Service employee hand them a sheet full of GPS cords to all the treestands you wish removed… and pray that none of them belong to the guy you handed the cords too. Furthermore, I have friends that have had blinds stolen multiple times… all the blinds were in place for no more than 48 hours, do I consider that abandoned? No… I don’t consider my camp trailer, truck, ranger, 4 wheeler, camping gear or anything else I may leave in a stationary position for my than one night abandoned… I paid for them they are MINE. Now if I chain them to a tree are they less mine? NO… but that tree does not belong to me unless it is a legal firewood tree and I have a permit, then it might be my tree but not until it is loaded in my truck which may be unattended on forest land while I cut on said tree. I am well known for calling a spade a spade and standing by it, this affair that went viral was simply me pointing out what I perceived as a Bad deal for all of us as hunters… a situation that could escalate into front page headlines if the wrong individuals happened to be involved. Something I never hope we have to read about in the head lines of any news paper. I will not respond to any direct questions on this or any thread because it is not my job to interpret anything for anyone. I will not participate in any further discussion for I have been asked not to create another “barn burner”… Anyone who wishes to chat with me personally may do so… shoot me a pm and I will send you my phone #. In fact the starter of this Thread …. Str8Shot … is also well known for his semi-abrasive and direct “spade calling” text… S8S… I did indeed attempt to PM and email you as you requested… neither apparently worked as your mail box said it was unable to accept. As a person and a hunter, I don’t hide behind a key board… I am out there and I am living it. My opinions are driven by what I see and the people I meet… I am a true blue conservative that believes in an eye for an eye and that hard work and personal sacrifice are what make our country great and are the only way to realize the American Dream. I wish no ill harm on another person only that they pull their own weight and let me pull mine. I am truly sorry for making the natives restless but my opinions are mine. I was asked not to post anymore on these topics or on this thread so I will likely be outta here for a while… I felt inclined to at least oblige you with the only answers I have for you. Farewell and good hunting… and hunt how it works best for you and do it without infringing on your fellow hunters. Good Day.
