Congrats on a hard earned buck! Anyone who says sitting and waiting for a buck is not earning it has never tried it.... Way to Go! -
Perfect buck to hang a Super Raffle tag on eh? I'm a bit high and your a bit low in my opinion... I get the humor / inside joke on that one coues and sheep, and i must say good one and you got me. Just make sure you know the whole story first. When someone says they are not going to shoot under any circumstances and the gun goes off and blows your ear out without any warning, what are you supposed to do. We were off by 4 inches at a 1000 yards on our initial guess, and thats why we were going to get a better look(look only), and kaboom out of the blue. I also know that my scoring ability needs a little tweaking. Back to the buck picture, i am not saying that my guess on a score is fact and he is a real nice buck, but i still think he is 100-105(not good enough for the super raffle tag unless the hunter decides in his mind to shoot it anyways, lol). LOL, Dave... $hit happens... Hope your ears recovered! I definately over looked a few things on this buck picture and that is easy to do in the field as well...Your 105 is a good conservitive guess IMO... one thing I've learnd is that most close up trail cam pics are deceiving...but I still bet on this buck going really close to the 110" make if measured on the ground... a no Brainer either way with a bow!!

I spoke to the owner of these Bino's this morning and he is one Happy Camper! He also was greatful to all the readers of this thread and forum for helping bring his Binos home! You see.... Brian Miller of Payson saw this thread and was listening to a local radio program when a lady called in saying that she and her husband were in possesion of some apparently lost binos.... Brian called because he too had lost binos... they turned out to not be his but he thought of this thread call Derek Taylor. Derek was able to put the rightful owners and the binos back together! Good Work Brian and Derek!!! What a Frickin' Great Ending to any hunter's worst nightmare!! Cudos to all the readers of CW.com!!

Congresswoman Giffords shot
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I am think this Quack was going do this in some way somewhere.... he just chose a political stage... however, it could have been a classroom, or a coffee shop, or a grocery store... this guy was an obvious wack-o... There should be no trial, they should let his blood run freely on the streets of Tucson for his crimes... and send a message to all the freaks, that being weak, and evil will not be tolerated... that there is should be no hiding behind "insanity" when you take lives or forever maim human lives. You cannot rehab evil America!! It must be snuffed out with swift justice!! I am tired of our laws protecting Criminals… Swift Justice will make the weak minded think twice! Rapists, murders, child predators should simply be exterminated… simple ending to the evil in our society. -
Pushing an arrowed deer too soon!
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to talltines's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
First off.. sorry... it is a sick feeling when you know you blew it... I've seen it many times... we pinned a thread here last year to help with these sorts of mistakes. Please read it from front to back... http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...showtopic=12229 Further more... You should not even be close to being "done" and back to hunting... a minumum of 2 full days of gridding should be spent in a 1/2-3/4 miles area. I once had a friend who looked for 4 months before recovering a buck he had shot...I recoverd a buck once 3 days later and 400 yds straight up... I once walked around the same bush for 3 hours before finding my buck bedded dead in the middle of it... you owe that deer a debt... pay it. You put too much time into a hunt to just quit... you started out hunting this buck and should finsh this hunt in the same fashion. Best of luck on the mountain... when gridding remember the deer was in flight mode and think like an animal in flight mode... it will help. Moral Fiber... that is what should push us forward when we weaken. That buck is very likely recoverable. Good luck.
