Alright.... we still don't have a winner per-say..... some guys are close..... I'm gunna keep it open to guesses until this Tues. the 7th at 7:00 pm. Keep guessing and anyone who wants to go back and change their guess is welcome to do so.... I will not record everyone's guesses till the end. I gotta say the part of this game that I thought was going to be easiest has turned out to be the hardest.... -
I think that if they are using the mail in surveys vs. manditory archery hunt reporting, the numbers cannot be assumingly correct.... Really, this issue only currently applies, IMO, to Manditory deer reporting by all legal taking methods. However, if they removed the mail-in surveys alltogether and institute an online survey.... it would save the thousands of $$$$$ per year in postage alone!

The buck could be a tie breaker! -
Add a 100" and you should be close.... shooting a 90"er is like a 190"..... 110" is like a 210"....IMO.

John, I've got a 30-06 that I don't really need.... but there are other issues.... Call me and we can talk about it....

Well it is time to buy boots for next season.... I wore out my Irish Setters after 2 seasons, but can't find the same boot again. I have had an itch to try something different from the normal/boring hunting boot.... The guys I hunted with in NWT swore by Scarpa's and the boys in AK have sent me stuff on LOWA. I figure if those brands are tough enough for them then they will work for me...... I trashed a pair of Irish Setters in 6 hunting days in NWT! The two boots that I have some interst in so far is the, Lowa Banff Backpacking Boot & the Scarpa Mustang GTX Backpacking Boot.... I really don't like to hunt in boots that don't allow me to feel the ground (like straping a 2x6 to the bottom of your foot), I am not sure if these type of boots are for me or not.... Does anyone have a pair and what are your thoughs??? I want tough and durable, water proof, COMFORT, and to feel the ground without getting stone bruised, all in one boot, not more than 200 gram of insulation, and not heavy, but heavy enough for the days where you pack out 80-120 lb packs of meat.... ... is that too much to ask for??? Any advice would be great! Thanks.

Congrats on the bird! How long is the beard on that bad boy?

Gunna buy a new pair of boots.... need advice.
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Well I did purchase a pair of boots.... I bought them cuz after coupon I gave like a $100 buck for them. I bought the Asolo FSN 95. They were also recomended to me by Wade @ Hardcore and are not a bad boot. They will take some getting use to on my part but are breaking in pretty well... they kinda hot spot me at the top, but I am not used to wearing a low top boot. Seem to be a well made boot that will last... I hope.... but I plan to use these as a partime hunting/ summertime boot. What I really like is that they are as light as most sneekers! I however took RR's advice and stopped in at Bull Basin in Flag yesterday to check out the Kenetrek Boots.... Those guys are great, BTW.... they not only sell the boots but also hunt in them... they were very helpfull! I tried on a pair of the Mountain Extreme's and all I can say is WOW!!!!! I will own a pair Soon! They only have a few pairs in stock over there and said they could get them in in 5 days if I wanted them.... BTW.... they are cheaper than online! As a side note.... you all know that I am a MATHEWS guy... ... but while in the shop yesterday I shot a new Hoyt that is Awesome! But not to fret.... I also shot the new Monster from Mathews.....OMG!!!! Can you say SICK???? It is the wildest lookin' fastest shooting Mathews I have ever shot!!! Might have to own me one of those, too!!! Although... that Hoyt (I am sad too admit) is one to consider. -

Emotion and fear rule this country..... not comom sense, or reason.... A friend said to me just today.... "Rules and laws are ment to keep honest folks honest.... when laws begin to make honest folks consider being dishonest.... It is wrong and the government has failed and led us down the wrong road!!"

pretty handy if you are learing the Strip country!

360 bull for 14 year old
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to azhunter85's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Congrats to the KID!!!! A great bull!!! Who really cares what that bulls scores???? Not me... a kid got bloody... that is what matters!!! I know a guy that lives a few towns over that could get 380-390 outta that bull... so the tape is not really imoprtant unless it is a top 5 critter.... Again... CONGRATS,KID!!!! -

Okay... Troy Boy.... I still think you are on the high side, but I will put a 1/4" steal tape on him on Memorial day W/E... This Thread is great!!! I was there when this bull hit the dirt... the "Tradition" and Kat parked this bull with one shot at 450 yards on the last day of her hunt... she was patient, passed bulls waiting for me to get back and help her and Dad kill a No Brainer.... But, it just goes to show you why EVERY Frickin' bull "guys" see is a 350"!!!!!! I have held, seen, bloodied my hands on BIG BULLS.... this is a good bull... a NO BRAINER to a young and up-and-coming hunter..... BUT IT AIN"T NO 350"!!!!!! NOT EVEN!!! We pass bulls like this in that unit with Adult hunters!!! Kat... you and Court, made me SO proud that week!!! I'll never forget it!!! Thanks! UG -
Thunderheads or 3 Blade Muzzy's... IMO.... are the only sure bet on elk. You can shoot them through a 55 gal. steel drum and still kill with them..... I also like the bigger cutting diameter, elk have longer hair that can help clot the hole faster.... no blood trail.... no elk. As for planing... tune your broadheads to your arrows and you should be just fine! Congrats on the tag!
