bigbuckfever Report post Posted October 3, 2021 I've used a deer decoy a few times. Only had a buck come into the tank I was sitting once, but it worked like I wanted it to. It was January and he walked right by me and was looking at the "doe" standing by the waters edge. I was able to get a broadside 23 yard shot. I either leave the antlers off it or I would put a small rack on it so the buck would know he could kick its arse. Sometimes I put out my turkey decoy to give the deer the sense that it must be all clear to come in if the turkey is there.
