Yuma Pheasant hunt

Recommended Posts

post-2426-1223327371_thumb.jpgGot to go to yuma again this year and hunt some pheasants. This is the forth year that I have been fortunate enough to have either a state G&F tag or a Cocopah pheasant tag to start the upland season off. The farm land along the Colorado river holds a good population of wild birds, and it's a fun way to start getting the dogs in shape for quail season. This was the first real bird hunt that my Vizsla Delbert got to go on three years ago when he was eight months old. He and three of his litter mates were more into running and playing then, but soon found that the scent of a bird was much more interesting than wrestling with their brothers and sisters. They're grown up now(sort of) and are much more business like-as soon as they get the initial gallon or so of adrnalene burned off. I haven't posted anything before but if I did this right there should be a picture here of Delbert with a couple of pheasants he let me shoot for him.
