Mine is 1.5" and probably a little too much gap. (See pic). It can be easily modified to fit with a dremel. I modified my other Magnetospeed (sold) to mount to an extension with a Pic rail qd, so it wasn't on the barrel. You're welcome to bring your rifle over and try it out.
